New Delhi — In a resounding display of geopolitical defiance, the BRICS summit in New Delhi has concluded with sweeping declarations that strike at the very heart of Western hegemony and Zionist impunity. For the Axis of Resistance and the broader Global South, the gathering was not merely an economic forum, but a definitive declaration of a new, multipolar world order that refuses to bow to unilateral coercion.

At the forefront of this paradigm shift was Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, who arrived in India with a bold institutional vision. Recognising that meaningful multilateralism cannot exist under the shadow of double standards and financial monopolies, Pezeshkian called for the establishment of a “permanent secretariat” for BRICS. Moving beyond the current rotating chairmanship, a fixed headquarters and full-time staff would ensure the bloc’s agenda is executed year-round, insulated from Western interference.

Equally critical was Tehran’s push for total financial sovereignty. Speaking at the BRICS Business Forum, President Pezeshkian urged member states to abandon “monopolistic instruments” and accelerate trade in national currencies. He proposed transforming the New Development Bank (NDB) into the primary engine for infrastructure and energy financing. With Iran’s central bank already preparing to integrate into the NDB, the mechanism to bypass crushing US sanctions is no longer theoretical—it is imminent.

A Direct Rebuke to Nuclear Terror

Perhaps the most significant geopolitical victory for Iran at the summit was the bloc’s unified stance on regional security. In a joint statement, the member grouping—which includes heavyweights like China, Russia, India, and South Africa—expressed “serious concern” over deliberate attacks on peaceful nuclear facilities under the full safeguards of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

The declaration unequivocally warned that such strikes violate international law and IAEA resolutions, emphasising that nuclear safety must be upheld even during armed conflict. This served as a direct, unified condemnation of the recent terrorist aggression by the United States and the Israeli regime against Iran’s civilian infrastructure. Coupled with Chinese President Xi Jinping’s call for BRICS members to actively promote peace in West Asia, the message to Washington and Tel Aviv was clear: the era of unchecked military aggression in the region is over.

Unwavering Support for the Resistance Front

The BRICS joint declaration also delivered devastating blows to the Zionist entity’s regional ambitions. The bloc condemned violations of Lebanon’s sovereignty, demanding an immediate Israeli withdrawal from occupied Lebanese territory. Despite the US-sponsored “framework agreement” signed in Washington on June 26, 2026, the occupying entity has continued its brutal campaign in southern Lebanon. BRICS heavily criticised the ongoing targeting of civilians, women, children, paramedics, and journalists.

Regarding Gaza, the bloc demanded the upholding of the October 2025 ceasefire and full humanitarian access, fiercely opposing policies aimed at the forced displacement of Palestinians. Furthermore, the declaration rejected unilateral attempts to alter the historical and legal status of occupied al-Quds, defending the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people and the sanctity of the city’s holy sites. The bloc also took a firm stance on Syria, reiterating its commitment to preserving the Arab nation’s sovereignty and territorial integrity against all forms of foreign-backed terrorism.

The Twilight of Unipolarity

President Pezeshkian laid out four clear priorities for the future of global governance: upholding sovereignty, restructuring biased institutions like the UN Security Council, expanding independent economic cooperation, and confronting unilateral sanctions. As he rightly pointed out, international rules can no longer be binding on some nations while remaining open to interpretation for the imperial powers that orchestrate global crises.

By formally rejecting unilateral sanctions and condemning Israeli crimes, BRICS has proven that the “rules-based order” dictated by the West is collapsing. For PureWilayah, the New Delhi summit represents a historic milestone: the institutionalisation of resistance on the global stage, and the dawn of an era where the sovereign rights of nations are defended not by the grace of empires, but by the united strength of the multipolar world.
