TEHRAN, April 20 (MNA) – Compared to Iran's actions, international organizations and European countries have not fulfilled their duties regarding the fight against ilicit drugs, according to the Iranian president on Saturday.President Ebrahim Raeisi said in the meeting of the Anti-Narcotics Headquarters on Saturday that Iran has sacrificed a lot in the anti-narcotics fight.

He added that the Anti-Narcotics Headquarters needs transformation in its functions.

The president said that, "It is very important to hold the international system responsible in the field of fighting against drugs.

Compared to Iran's actions, international organizations and European countries have not fulfilled their duties in the fight against illicit drugs." He added that, "The country's intelligence departments should focus on identifying distribution networks of drug traffickers.

It is necessary to deal with small and limited distribution elements, but the focus of the actions has to be on main distribution networks." MNA/6083794
