Tens of thousands of Yemenis gathered in the capital Sana’a to mark the birth anniversary of the Prophet Mohammad.

Participants also reaffirmed their support for Yemeni forces fighting back against Saudi Arabia and its allies that have been pounding Yemen for nearly five years.

Despite the difficulties and hardship of nearly five years of Saudi aggression and occupation, Yemenis have celebrated this year's anniversary of Prophet Mohammed birthday.

The leader of Yemen’s Ansarullah movement has warned Saudi Arabia against continuing its deadly aggression on the country.

Abdul-Malik al-Houthi said the Saudis will face dire consequences if they fail to end the war and blockade against Yemen immediately.

He said the Saudi-led forces have stolen huge volumes of oil from the country.

The Ansarullah leader made the remarks as he addressed the rally on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad.

Launching its war on Yemen in March 2015, Riyadh had sought to install a pro-Saudi regime in power and crush the popular Ansarullah movement.  Saudi Arabia’s war on Yemen has claimed the lives of tens of thousands of people since 2015.

In addition to civilian casualties, the conflict has triggered a set of humanitarian crises including cholera and diphtheria epidemics, which have so far claimed thousands of lives.

Thousands of Yemenis have gathered here in capital Sana’a to commemorate the birth of Prophet Mohammed.

The demonstrators called for Muslims unity and urged an end to the brutal war on Yemen
