TEHRAN, April 12 (MNA) – Pakistan's President Asif Ali Zardari has invited his Iranian counterpart Ebrahim Raeisi to visit Pakistan, stressing that Islamabad is committed to developing close cooperation with Tehran in various areas.During the phone conversation, Zardari congratulated the Islamic Republic of Iran's President, the government and the people of Iran on the Eid al-Fitr.

President Zardari assured President Raeisi that Pakistan will continue to work closely with Iran in all areas of mutual interest and strengthen the ties further.

He also emphasized the need to increase the exchange of information to overcome the security challenges shared by the two countries.

The Pakistan president went on to invite President Raisi to visit Pakistan.

Zardari also expressed his condolences to and sincere sympathy with the Iranian government and the bereaved families who lost their loved ones in the attack of the Israeli regime on the consular section of the Iranian embassy in Damascus.

Expressing his concern about the humanitarian crisis and the genocide of Palestinians by the Israeli occupying forces, he called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.
