Amin Alemi Press TV, Kabul Iran and Afghanistan have expanded their efforts to deepen their mutual ties over the past months.

As the last round of these efforts, Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister, Abbas Araqchi visited Kabul for talks with Afghan Officials. During the last meeting between Iran and Afghanistan top diplomats in Tehran, the two sides discussed the latest developments in relations.

The two chief diplomats also held talks on issues related to Afghan refugees in Iran.

supporting Afghanistan to successfully run an Afghan-led peace process is one of the other priorities for Tehran.

As research and documents show, over 3 million Afghan refugees are currently living in Iran ,a matter that can be considered as a proof of Tehran's strong will to help its eastern neighbor even inside Iran's soil.

Leading a political, security, and economic delegation, the Iranian diplomat will meet with senior Afghan officials and will also take part in a roundtable at the Office of Strategic Studies of Afghanistan.

The visit of Iranian deputy foreign minister to Kabul comes as Kabul and Tehran have recently focused on boosting mutual ties including fight against drug smuggling, , regional peace process, refugees and health issues .

all these efforts have created optimism among both sides
