OCCUPIED WEST BANK — In a continued escalation of its brutal crackdown on Palestinian media and civilians, Zionist occupation forces have abducted two Palestinian journalists in the occupied West Bank, highlighting the regime’s ongoing efforts to silence the truth and suppress the steadfastness of the Palestinian people.
According to local sources, Zionist troops stormed the town of Arraba, south of Jenin, early Sunday. The forces broke into and ransacked the home of journalist Raja Maarouf Jabr before taking her into custody. In a separate overnight raid on the village of ‘Asira al-Qibliya, southwest of Nablus, occupation forces abducted journalist Sami al-Shami alongside five other local residents.
These latest abductions come immediately following the release of Press TV correspondent Naqaa Hamed. Hamed was kidnapped by the Zionist regime on September 14 at a military checkpoint near Tuqu’ in Bethlehem. After enduring nearly two weeks of unjust detention in the notorious Damon Prison, she was finally freed on Saturday.
The kidnapping of journalists is part of a much broader, vicious campaign by the occupying regime across the West Bank. In Kafr Dan, west of Jenin, Zionist forces kidnapped Ahmed Abdul Jabbar Salah and Mohammed Ahed Salah after storming their homes. Meanwhile, a Zionist special forces unit infiltrated the Old City of Nablus, barging into the al-Qaryoun neighbourhood and abducting Izzat Tabila and Jihad Qazour.
The regime’s military vehicles also swept through Qabatiya, the Jenin refugee camp, al-Mughayyir, Qalandiya, Hizma, Aqabat Jaber, and Attil, ransacking homes and terrorising civilians in a widespread display of state-sponsored violence.
The terror inflicted by the Zionist regime has reached a “breaking point,” as noted even by international monitoring bodies. The UN recently documented over 1,430 attacks by extremist Zionist settlers in 2026 alone across roughly 260 Palestinian communities, frequently carried out under the direct protection of regime forces. Since January 2023, more than 127 Palestinian communities have been fully or partially displaced, affecting over 6,390 people. Furthermore, the occupation continues its relentless campaign of Judaisation and displacement, having already advanced plans for more than 12,360 illegal settler units across the West Bank and occupied East al-Quds this year.
Despite the escalating violence and mass arrests, the Palestinian people remain resolute in their resistance and steadfastness against the occupation.
