Yemen Warns of Zionist Activities in Somalia, Declares Regional Security a Red Line
Yemen says it is closely monitoring Israeli activities in Somalia, warning that efforts to expand Zionist influence in the Horn of Africa threaten Somalia’s unity and regional security.
Yemen, PUREWILAYAH.COM – Yemen’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Expatriate Affairs, Abdulwahid Abu Ras, said the Republic of Yemen is closely monitoring what he described as Zionist activities in Somalia, warning that the country’s security and the stability of the wider region are a red line.
Speaking to the Yemeni News Agency (SABA), Abu Ras said a figure identified as Abdulrahman Mohammed “Aro” is seeking to turn Hargeisa, Berbera, and other areas separated from Somalia’s federal government into operational hubs managed by the Israeli occupation entity, with the Somali people ultimately bearing the consequences.
Yemen Warns of Threat to Somalia’s Unity
Abu Ras said the greatest victim of these activities would be the Somali people themselves, arguing that Zionist involvement aims to undermine Somalia’s unity and sovereignty by fragmenting the country and transforming its territory into an arena for regional and international conflict.
He warned that such developments would carry severe consequences not only for Somalia but for the security and stability of the entire region.
The deputy foreign minister urged that these plans must not be allowed to proceed, saying the only beneficiary would be the Israeli occupation entity, which seeks to entrench its presence in the Horn of Africa at the expense of Somalia’s people, interests, and resources. He called on all Somali parties to reject what he described as false promises and remain fully aware of the dangers posed by Zionist presence in the region.
“A Time Bomb” for the Region
Abu Ras further warned that what he described as the Zionist project extends beyond Somalia and poses a direct threat to the national security of the entire region, cautioning that it could drag neighboring countries into a major conflict with unpredictable consequences.
He called on regional states to recognize what he described as the expansionist nature of the Zionist project, characterizing the Israeli presence in this geography as “a time bomb” that would eventually explode in everyone’s face. Remaining silent over these activities, he added, would carry a heavy cost.
Reaffirming Yemen’s position, Abu Ras said the country possesses both the determination and the capability to safeguard its strategic security and remains fully prepared to cooperate in efforts aimed at preserving regional stability and the security of its peoples.
“Yemen’s security and the security of the region are a red line,” he said. (PW)
