Yemen Strikes Lod Airport with Ballistic Missiles, Announces New Phase of Deterrence
Yemeni Armed Forces confirm direct hit on occupied Jaffa airport using hypersonic and Zolfaghar missiles; President Al-Mashat signals intensified military escalation against Israeli regime
Yemen, PUREWILAYAH.COM - The Yemeni Armed Forces have carried out a special military operation targeting Lod Airport in the occupied Jaffa area, achieving a direct hit on the facility, according to an official statement issued this evening.
Brigadier General Yahya Sare'e, spokesperson for the Yemeni Armed Forces, announced that the Rocketry Forces launched two ballistic missiles during the operation — one being a hypersonic Palestine-2 missile, and the other a Zolfaghar missile.
He confirmed that one of the missiles directly struck the airport, and emphasized that enemy air defense systems failed to intercept the attack.
Operation Paralyzes Air Traffic and Sends Zionist Settlers to Shelters
General Sare'e stated:
“The operation successfully achieved its goal, forcing millions of occupying Zionists to flee to shelters and halting air traffic at the airport.”
He reiterated that the operation was conducted:
“In support of the oppressed Palestinian people and their resistance fighters, and as a condemnation of the genocide being perpetrated by the Zionist enemy against our brothers in Gaza.”
Warning to Airlines and Air Navigation Ban Still in Effect
The official statement also declared:
“The Yemeni Armed Forces affirm that the air navigation ban to and from the airport remains in effect, and renew their warning to all remaining companies: they must immediately suspend all flights to and from the airport.”
This statement reinforces Yemen’s commitment to continue disrupting Israeli air operations as long as the aggression on Gaza persists.
Response to Zionist Aggression in Hodeidah: Haifa Port Added to Target Bank
In a related warning, the Armed Forces addressed the Zionist aggression on the province of Hodeidah, stating that:
“The Yemeni Armed Forces warn all companies and parties against continuing to operate through the Port of Haifa, which has now been included in their target bank.”
This expansion of military targets marks a significant broadening of the Yemeni military strategy in response to the continued Israeli war on Gaza and retaliatory strikes on Yemen.
President Al-Mashat Announces Start of New Phase of Deterrence
In a decisive political and military development, Yemen’s President Mahdi Al-Mashat announced the imminent launch of a new phase of strategic deterrence against the Israeli regime.
Speaking on Tuesday, President Al-Mashat emphasized:
“Yemeni strikes on the Zionist enemy will be calculated, effective, and vital, ensuring that our forces maintain superiority and control over the battlefield.”
He added that this new phase requires preemptive warnings to other countries whose interests may be affected by the forthcoming escalation.
Escalating Yemeni Military Campaign in Support of Gaza
Since the outbreak of Israel’s war on Gaza in October 2023, the Yemeni Armed Forces have stepped up their regional military operations in direct solidarity with the Palestinian resistance.
These operations have included:
Long-range missile strikes
Coordinated drone attacks
Strategic maritime disruptions in the Red Sea
Repeated targeting of Israeli ports, airports, and shipping routes
Each operation is part of Yemen’s declared position to defend the Palestinian people, counter Israeli expansionism, and confront the ongoing genocide in Gaza. (PW)
