Yemen Begins Trial of Espionage Network Linked to Mossad, CIA, and Saudi Intelligence
Specialized Criminal Court in Sana’a opens hearings for 21 defendants accused of spying for foreign intelligence services against Yemen’s sovereignty
Yemen, PUREWILAYAH.COM - Yemen’s Specialized Criminal Court in the capital, Sana’a, began hearings on Sunday for 21 defendants accused of belonging to a sophisticated espionage network operating under a joint operations room managed by the Israeli intelligence (Mossad), the U.S. CIA, and Saudi intelligence.
According to officials, the network — based in Saudi Arabia — carried out extensive spying operations targeting Yemen’s military, political, and security infrastructure, while recruiting local collaborators.
The court session was chaired by Chief Judge Yahya al-Mansour, with Prosecutor General Abdullah Zahra and Deputy Prosecutor Sarim al-Din Mufaddal in attendance.
Foreign Intelligence Collaboration and Espionage Activities
Court documents revealed that the accused worked with hostile foreign entities, including Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom, and the United States, through officers from their respective intelligence agencies and the Mossad of the Israeli enemy.
The defendants reportedly received encrypted communication tools, geolocation software, and training in operating concealed cameras linked to live broadcast systems.
They allegedly supplied adversaries with sensitive information regarding government officials’ locations, political and military movements, and even recruited Yemeni citizens for espionage operations.
The spy network also installed surveillance cameras that facilitated attacks on military, security, and civilian sites across the country.
Yemen’s Counterintelligence Efforts and Regional Implications
The charges include destroying evidence, assisting the Saudi-led coalition in its aggression against Yemen, and providing intelligence on missile sites, weapons depots, and key leadership movements in exchange for money.
This exposure is part of a series of major security breakthroughs by Yemen’s intelligence and counterintelligence units in recent years. The dismantled networks were reportedly directed from a joint U.S.–Israeli–Saudi operations room designed to destabilize Yemen from within.
The operation reaffirms Yemen’s growing capability as a regional intelligence power — committed to defending its sovereignty, protecting national security, and maintaining strategic deterrence against foreign aggression. (PW)
