White House Confirms Trump Diagnosed with Chronic Venous Insufficiency
According to a statement, the diagnosis was made after a comprehensive examination conducted by the White House Medical Unit, including a vascular diagnostic assessment.
United States, PUREWILAYAH.COM – The White House announced on Thursday that former U.S. President Donald Trump has been diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency following a medical evaluation prompted by swelling observed in his legs.
According to a statement read by White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, the diagnosis was made after a comprehensive examination conducted by the White House Medical Unit, including a vascular diagnostic assessment.
The statement, issued by Trump’s physician Dr. Sean Barbabella, noted that a bilateral lower limb venous Doppler ultrasound was performed, confirming the presence of chronic venous insufficiency — a common condition, especially in individuals over the age of 70. Trump, who is 79 years old, has been experiencing leg swelling in recent weeks, which led to the evaluation.
The medical report emphasized that there was no evidence of deep vein thrombosis or arterial disease, and that all of Trump’s laboratory test results were within normal ranges.
In addition, Trump underwent an echocardiogram, which found no signs of heart failure, kidney dysfunction, or systemic illness.
Chronic venous insufficiency (ICD-9) is a condition in which veins in the legs are unable to efficiently return blood to the heart, often resulting in swelling, discomfort, and varicose veins. It is typically managed with lifestyle changes, compression therapy, and medical monitoring.
The White House has not indicated whether further treatment or interventions will be required. (PW)
