In a resolute address delivered on Friday, the Secretary-General of Hezbollah, His Eminence Sheikh Naim Qassem, laid down a definitive red line regarding the fate of Lebanon, categorically rejecting any negotiations or concessions to the occupying Zionist entity.
Addressing the steadfast people of Lebanon, His Eminence acknowledged the immense burdens and sacrifices borne by the populace, praising the proud youth of the Resistance. “Those who possess such a resistance and such sacrificing youth have nothing to fear,” he declared, reassuring the nation that the Islamic Resistance remains unwavering in its commitment to their dignity and sovereignty.
Rejection of Surrender and the “Framework Agreement”
Sheikh Qassem sharply condemned the current trajectory of the Lebanese authorities, criticising their decision to abandon the October 27 agreement in favour of direct negotiations with the Zionist enemy. He slammed these ongoing talks as a “humiliating surrender” that has done nothing to stop the war, but instead grants legitimacy to the enemy’s aggression.
“Who authorised you to relinquish sovereignty?” His Eminence challenged the complicit officials, accusing them of putting Lebanon’s national interests at risk merely to cling to power and appease an America that is entirely complicit with the Zionist regime.
Reaffirming the steadfast stance of the Islamic Resistance, Sheikh Qassem stated that Hezbollah accepts only the implementation of the October 27 agreement under the framework of UN Resolution 1701. He categorically rejected the newly proposed “Framework Agreement,” branding it as “illegitimate, illegal, and humiliating.” This treacherous framework, he warned, destroys Lebanese sovereignty without restoring a single right to the people.
Shattering the US-Zionist Project of Hegemony
Broadening the scope of the struggle, His Eminence exposed the true nature of the regional conflict, defining it as a battle between the Axis of Resistance and the dual currents of American imperialist hegemony and its “cancerous tumour,” the Zionist entity.
He warned that Washington is actively exploiting its military might and the submission of some regional actors to pave the way for the establishment of “Greater Israel.” However, he stressed that the immense sacrifices made across the Axis of Resistance—in Palestine, Lebanon, Iran, Yemen, and Iraq—have successfully stalled this imperialist agenda.
“We have made great sacrifices, and we will not lose,” Sheikh Qassem affirmed powerfully. “Loss only comes when we surrender, when we hand everything over to them with our own hands.” He dismissed the enemy’s attempts to break the will of the people through assassinations, economic warfare, and psychological propaganda, asserting that such tactics are doomed to fail.
Palestine is the Compass
Concluding his address with a call for true Islamic and Arab unity, the Hezbollah Secretary-General urged the region’s nations to stop being mere spectators while their brethren suffer. He emphasised that the liberation of Palestine remains the central, unifying cause for all honourable people—it is an Islamic, Arab, and humanitarian duty, far removed from sectarian divisions.
Invoking the legacy of the great Imam Sayyed Musa al-Sadr—who was kidnapped by the enemy decades ago—His Eminence recalled the Imam’s timeless words regarding the suffering of South Lebanon:
“Lebanon cannot smile while its South is suffering and in pain.”
As the Zionist enemy continues its aggression, the message from the leadership of the Resistance remains crystal clear: The path of negotiation and concession is a dead end. Victory and dignity lie only in steadfastness, unity, and the unwavering resolve of the Resistance.
