Vladimir Putin’s Year-End Press Conference: Russia Stands Firm as the World Order Shifts
Four and a Half Hours, More Than 70 Topics — Moscow Signals Resolve Against Western Coercion
Russia, PUREWILAYAH.COM — Russian President Vladimir Putin concluded his traditional year-end press conference after a marathon session lasting more than four and a half hours, addressing over 70 domestic and international issues amid ongoing geopolitical confrontation driven by the United States and its allies.
The event, once again combined with the annual Direct Line, saw Putin respond to questions submitted by more than two million citizens, journalists, and international media outlets.
The discussion ranged from the conflict in Ukraine and the situation of Russian frontline soldiers to artificial intelligence, space exploration, and social issues affecting ordinary Russians.
The press conference underscored Russia’s political stability, military endurance, and refusal to submit to Western pressure, sanctions, or information warfare.
Ukraine Elections: Legitimacy Cannot Be Imposed by the West
Putin stressed that any future elections in Ukraine must be genuinely legitimate and inclusive, including participation by Ukrainian citizens currently living in Russia — estimated between five and ten million people.
“The government in Ukraine must become legitimate. Without an election, this is impossible,” Putin said.
He added that Moscow is prepared to consider security guarantees on election day or at least refrain from deep strikes, provided Kyiv does not exploit the process as a tactical maneuver to stall Russia’s military advance.
Putin sharply contrasted Western demands toward Russia with silence over Ukraine’s internal political collapse, pointing out that Russia itself conducted elections — including the 2024 presidential vote — despite foreign interference and direct Ukrainian attacks on polling infrastructure.
Russia’s Military Reality: Youth, Commitment, and Frontline Strength
Putin confirmed that more than 700,000 Russian troops are currently deployed along the front line, the majority of them young men born in the 1990s.
This disclosure counters persistent Western narratives portraying Russia as militarily exhausted, revealing instead a sustained force structure rooted in domestic mobilization rather than mercenary dependence or foreign occupation forces — a stark contrast to US-led wars in West Asia.
Western Hypocrisy Exposed: Democracy by Force Is a Lie
Putin’s remarks implicitly exposed the double standards of Washington and its allies, who routinely invoke “democracy” while backing unelected regimes, military occupations, and genocidal campaigns — particularly Israel’s ongoing crimes against the Palestinian people.
While the US demands “security guarantees” for Ukraine, it offers unlimited weapons and political cover to Israel as it annihilates Gaza, assassinates journalists, and starves civilians — without elections, accountability, or international law.
Russia’s position, Putin emphasized, is grounded in sovereignty, legality, and resistance to imperial diktats.
Technology, AI, and Cultural Decay
Addressing artificial intelligence, Putin warned that unchecked reliance on chatbots risks weakening children’s ability to think independently.
“Education must force students to engage their brains,” he said, stressing that technology should serve human development, not replace it.
He also denounced the spread of satanism, occultism, and pseudo-spiritual services as destructive phenomena that confuse society and exploit vulnerable citizens, vowing increased regulatory oversight.
A Message Beyond the Present Generation
In an improvised “time capsule” address to future generations, Putin spoke of continuity, sacrifice, and responsibility across centuries — a message sharply contrasting with the short-term profiteering and cultural erosion promoted by Western capitalism.
He rejected personal glorification, stating he has no intention of writing memoirs:
“Let others evaluate my work and the work of my team.”
Voices of the People: Unfiltered and Direct
The session included candid messages from citizens, reflecting both seriousness and humor — from calls to “take Kyiv quickly” to concerns over domestic industries competing with Chinese imports, and even jokes urging the president to “grab a beer.”
This unfiltered exchange highlighted a political culture increasingly absent in US-controlled systems, where leaders are shielded from genuine public scrutiny. (PW)
