Venezuela’s Interior Minister Vows Victory After U.S. Terrorist Aggression
Diosdado Cabello Calls for Calm and Unity as Security Forces Secure Caracas Following Missile Attacks
Venezuela | PUREWILAYAH.COM — Venezuela’s Minister of Interior, Justice, and Peace, Diosdado Cabello, declared on Saturday that the Venezuelan people “will emerge victorious” following what he described as a terrorist military aggression carried out by the United States against civilians and infrastructure in the capital.
Speaking from the streets of Caracas on January 3, Cabello strongly condemned the missile and bomb attacks launched overnight, urging calm, unity, and confidence in the country’s political and military leadership.
Cabello: Attacks Sought Panic but Failed
Cabello stated that the assault came after 28 weeks of escalating threats from the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump, with the clear intention of spreading fear and chaos among the population.
“The country is in complete calm,” Cabello said. “What they tried to achieve with bombs and missiles, they achieved only partially. They expected the people to react in panic. They failed. This people knows what it must do.”
He emphasized that Venezuela did not fall into the desperation anticipated by Washington, stressing that the era of submission and fear “belongs to the past.”
According to the Interior Minister, the U.S. attack targeted not only state and electrical infrastructure but also residential areas, with bombs falling on buildings inhabited by civilians.
Cabello described the assault as an indiscriminate terrorist attack against the Venezuelan people as a whole — including citizens with no political affiliation — calling it a direct strike against national sovereignty and social stability.
Security Forces and Popular Organizations Deployed Nationwide
Cabello confirmed that military and police forces, in coordination with organized popular groups, have been fully deployed across the national territory to guarantee public safety and stability.
He said that security units conducted intensive patrols throughout Caracas during the night and early morning hours, ensuring control of key areas and preventing any attempts to exploit the situation.
Call for Unity and Confidence in National Leadership
Addressing the public, Cabello urged Venezuelans to remain calm and place their trust in the country’s political-military leadership, warning against falling into provocations designed to benefit what he described as an “invading and terrorist enemy.”
“This is not the first battle our people have faced,” he said, recalling Venezuela’s long history of resistance against external aggression. “We have survived worse circumstances, and we will overcome this as well.”
Appeal to International Community
The Interior Minister called on the international community to take a clear and principled stance on the attacks, warning that silence in the face of civilian bombings would amount to complicity.
“Organizations that remain silent in the face of this massacre of civilians and the bombing of populated areas become accomplices,” Cabello said, describing his appeal as a call for ethical responsibility rather than political alignment.
Cabello reiterated that the country remains stable and under full state control, expressing gratitude to the men and women who worked throughout the night to secure the capital.
He reaffirmed support for President Nicolás Maduro, stating that the leadership is firmly directing the national response and coordinating all security and defense measures.
“The Venezuelan People Will Be Victorious”
Concluding his address, Cabello described the overnight bombardment as a “cowardly and vile attack” carried out against a population at rest, underscoring the nature of the aggression.
“Let us not fall into provocation. Let us not fall into despair,” he said. “With faith and unity, at the end of this battle, the people of Venezuela will be victorious.” (PW)
