Vahidi: Israel Masks Failure With Threats and Psychological Warfare

Ahmad Vahidi says Tel Aviv is using propaganda and escalation rhetoric to conceal failure in the Twelve-Day War and growing international isolation

Iran, PUREWILAYAH.COM — Iranian Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, stated that the Israeli regime is resorting to threats, propaganda, and political maneuvers to hide what he described as a severe and strategic defeat suffered during the Twelve-Day War.

Speaking to Al Mayadeen, Vahidi said the Zionist entity is attempting to distort reality through psychological warfare, media campaigns, and diplomatic theatrics in order to mask its failure and mounting isolation.

Psychological Warfare to Hide Strategic Failure

Vahidi said the Israeli regime is deliberately projecting a false image of strength that does not correspond to realities on the ground.

According to the Iranian general, Israel is facing deep internal, political, and strategic crises, having failed to achieve any of its stated objectives in its confrontation with Iran.

He stressed that threats and propaganda emanating from Tel Aviv are acts of desperation, not confidence, adding that Israel’s escalating rhetoric reflects fear rather than deterrence.

Vahidi noted that Iran continues to closely monitor developments, remaining fully prepared while refusing to be drawn into manufactured narratives designed to obscure Israeli weakness.

Netanyahu Seeks U.S. Backing for Renewed Aggression

Vahidi’s remarks come as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu prepares to push for renewed military action against Iran during an upcoming meeting with Donald Trump, according to sources cited by NBC.

The meeting, expected to take place later this month at Mar-a-Lago, is reportedly aimed at securing U.S. support for a new round of aggression against Iran, including scenarios ranging from unilateral Israeli strikes to full joint U.S.–Israeli military operations.

Israeli officials claim Iran is rebuilding missile production facilities, air defenses, and regional alliances, portraying these defensive efforts as justification for renewed attacks. However, assessments from U.S. officials reportedly remain divided.

Trump, commenting on the proposed meeting, said, “We haven’t set it up formally, but he’d like to see me,” despite Israeli officials already announcing a December 29 date.

Renewed Escalation After the Twelve-Day War

The push for escalation comes less than a year after Israel launched a large-scale aggression that triggered the Twelve-Day War, during which Israeli occupation forces struck civilian, nuclear, and military sites inside Iran.

Those attacks occurred amid collapsing nuclear negotiations between Tehran and Washington, which had stalled due to U.S. maximalist demands extending far beyond the nuclear issue.

According to Iranian authorities and independent monitors, the Israeli-U.S. aggression killed nearly one thousand people, damaged Iran’s air-defense infrastructure, and targeted key civilian facilities.

Israeli officials now openly complain that Iran is rebuilding its defensive capabilities — a process Tel Aviv portrays as unacceptable.

Such statements once again expose the aggressive and expansionist nature of the Israeli regime, whose security doctrine rests on denying sovereignty and defensive capacity to all states and movements in the region.

Rather than coexistence, Tel Aviv operates on a colonial logic that views regional disarmament and permanent domination as prerequisites for its own sense of security.

As Vahidi emphasized, threats and propaganda will not alter realities: Israel’s defeat, isolation, and strategic failure cannot be concealed indefinitely, no matter how loud its rhetoric or how powerful its backers. (PW)
