U.S.–Israel Launch Military Strike, Iran Retaliates
Coordinated U.S.–Israeli assault on Iran triggers Iranian ballistic missile response toward Tel Aviv and occupied territories
Iran | PUREWILAYAH.COM — The United States and Israel have launched a coordinated military assault against the Islamic Republic of Iran, marking a major escalation in regional tensions.
In response, Iran initiated a direct military retaliation, launching dozens of ballistic missiles toward Tel Aviv and other locations across the occupied Palestinian territories.
The confrontation began early Saturday when Israeli warplanes carried out airstrikes inside Iran, an operation later acknowledged by Israeli officials to have been planned in coordination with Washington.
Israeli Airstrikes Inside Iran
Israeli aircraft targeted multiple locations across Iran, including central Tehran, where missile impacts were reported near University Street and the Jomhouri (Republic) area, both densely populated districts.
According to Fars News Agency, additional explosions were later heard in northern and eastern Tehran, indicating a widening scope of the attack. Mehr News Agency reported explosions in several provinces, including Isfahan, Qom, Lorestan, Karaj, and Kermanshah, confirming that the assault extended well beyond the capital.
An Iranian official told Reuters that several government ministries in southern Tehran were also struck, underscoring that the attack included state institutions, not only military sites.
Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth claimed that over 30 locations across Iran were targeted during the strikes.
Israel Admits U.S. Coordination
Israeli Security Minister Israel Katz attempted to frame the attack as a so-called “pre-emptive strike.” However, an Israeli security official later admitted that the operation was coordinated with the United States, planned over several months, and that the timing had been finalized weeks in advance.
This admission confirmed that the assault was deliberate, premeditated, and jointly executed by Washington and Tel Aviv.

Iran Launches Ballistic Missile Retaliation
Hours after the Israeli strikes, Iran launched multiple waves of ballistic missiles toward the occupied Palestinian territories.
Nournews confirmed the firing of dozens of missiles, with targets including Tel Aviv, Haifa, and areas in northern occupied Palestine. The Israeli military acknowledged detecting missile barrages originating from Iran, while sirens sounded repeatedly across central and northern areas.
Nournews later reported the detection of a third wave of Iranian missile launches, signaling that Iran’s response was sustained rather than symbolic.
Iranian state television stated that Tehran was preparing a crushing retaliation, emphasizing that violations of Iranian sovereignty would be met with force.
IRGC Signals Ongoing Operations
Earlier, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) told Russia’s RIA Novosti that Iran’s response to the aggression would unfold within hours, indicating that the missile launches were part of a broader operational phase, not a single retaliatory act.
Iran has framed its actions as an exercise of its inherent right to self-defense in response to foreign military aggression.
United States Enters War Publicly
Following Israel’s strikes, U.S. President Donald Trump publicly announced that the United States had begun what he described as “major combat operations in Iran.”
In a televised address, Trump framed the attacks as defensive while issuing direct threats against Iran’s military and missile capabilities, effectively confirming Washington’s open participation in the war alongside Israel.
Emergency Measures in Occupied Territories
Anticipating Iranian retaliation, Israeli authorities declared a nationwide state of emergency, closing schools and workplaces, banning public gatherings, and shutting down civilian airspace.
Residents were instructed to remain near shelters as air raid sirens sounded across multiple areas. Israeli officials were reported to have rushed to the Kirya military headquarters in Tel Aviv for urgent security consultations.
A War Imposed, Not Provoked
The sequence of events demonstrates that the current confrontation was initiated by a coordinated U.S.–Israeli military operation, not by Iranian action. Tehran’s missile launches followed confirmed Israeli airstrikes and public U.S. declarations of involvement.
The retaliations continue and the regional situation deteriorates, responsibility for the escalation rests with Washington and Tel Aviv, whose actions have pushed West Asia into a new phase of open military confrontation. (PW)
