US Troops Storm Mexican Beach After Trump’s Bomb Threat, Triggering Border Outrage
Pentagon admits ‘contractor’ troops planted US Defense Department signs on Mexican territory as tensions escalate under Trump’s aggressive policies
Mexico, PUREWILAYAH.COM - US troops stormed a beach in northeast Mexico on Monday, only days after US President Donald Trump publicly threatened to bomb the country under the pretext of fighting drug cartels.
The unidentified men — reportedly US “contractors” — arrived by boat and immediately drove six metal signs into the sand, declaring the beach a “Restricted Area” belonging to the US Department of Defense. The wording threatened that unauthorized entry was prohibited.
Footage posted on social media shows the location to be Playa Bagdad, a Mexican beach near the mouth of the Rio Grande.
Mexican security rushed to the scene in armored vehicles mounted with machine guns. The Mexican Navy later removed the signs.
Pentagon Issues Embarrassing Admission
In a statement carried by US media, the Pentagon admitted the men had “mistakenly” landed on a Mexican beach. The Defense Department said the personnel had been sent to mark “National Defense Area III.”
The Pentagon attempted to justify the violation by claiming that “changes in water depth and topography altered the perception of the international boundary’s location.”
Mexico rejected that explanation. The Foreign Affairs Ministry said the signs’ origin and placement on Mexican national territory were “unclear,” and confirmed that the Mexican section of the International Boundary and Water Commission (IBWC) would review maps and treaties defining the border.
Video circulating locally shows Mexican marines pulling the US signs out of the sand.
Trump’s Threats Fuel the Crisis
The incident comes directly after President Trump escalated his rhetoric toward Mexico, openly threatening military action and expressing willingness to strike Mexican territory without consent.
Asked whether he would order strikes against Mexico, Trump replied:
“Would I launch strikes in Mexico to stop drugs? OK with me. Whatever we have to do.”
Trump refused to say whether he would seek Mexico’s permission, adding:
“They’re killing our people. That’s like a war. Would I do it? I’d be proud to.”
The US President also repeated claims that the US “knows every route” and “every address” of individuals in Mexico — remarks widely understood as signaling potential unilateral military action. (PW)
