US Airstrikes Kill Dozens of African Migrants at Detention Center in Yemen's Sa'adah
American airstrikes target civilians for the second time in 12 hours amid escalating aggression on Yemen
Yemen, PUREWILAYAH.COM - US warplanes launched two airstrikes targeting the Reserve Prison in Sa'adah Governorate, resulting in dozens of martyrs and at least 50 injured, all of whom were African detainees, according to medical sources.
Al-Masirah’s correspondent reported that the airstrikes hit a detention center for African migrants inside the prison, located in the city of Sa'adah.
Rescue Efforts Underway
Civil Defense teams and rescue workers are currently battling fires and searching for survivors at the scene. Ambulance teams are working intensively to transfer the wounded to nearby hospitals in the city.
According to the correspondent, the Reserve Prison housed around 100 African detainees. Initial reports indicate that dozens of migrants were martyred, while 50 wounded victims were transported to the Republican Hospital following the US airstrike.
Horrific Scenes at the Site
Images from the location reveal dozens of scattered bodies and dismembered limbs, while rescue teams continue their efforts to retrieve the victims and offer emergency medical aid. The final death toll has yet to be confirmed as search operations continue.
The airstrikes on the Reserve Prison come as part of an intensified aerial campaign by US forces against Sa'adah Governorate, which also saw three air raids on Kitaf District and two additional raids on the outskirts of Sa'adah city late last night.
A Second War Crime in 12 Hours
This latest attack adds to another war crime committed by American warplanes within less than 12 hours, which targeted residential homes in the Thaqban area of Bani Al-Harith District in the capital, Sana'a. That assault led to the martyrdom of eight civilians and wounded several others, including women and children.
Despite Washington’s claims that its military campaign is intended to deter Yemeni operations in the Red Sea, the US strikes have overwhelmingly targeted civilian areas, resulting in the deaths and injuries of countless innocent men, women, and children. (PW)
