UN Chief Conveys Condolences to Iran Over Martyrdom of Ayatollah Khamenei
UN Secretary-General António Guterres expressed condolences to the Iranian nation and government during a phone call with Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi.
Iran, PUREWILAYAH.COM - The United Nations Secretary-General, António Guterres, expressed his condolences to the Iranian nation and government over the martyrdom of Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei, the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution, during a telephone conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi on Thursday.
According to Iranian media, Guterres once again extended his condolences over the martyrdom of Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei and conveyed his sympathy to the people and government of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Meanwhile, the pure body of the martyred Leader arrived at Imam Khomeini Mosalla in Tehran, where preparations are underway for the official public farewell ceremonies.
Guterres, Araghchi Discuss Regional Developments
During the phone call, Guterres and Araghchi also reviewed the latest regional and international developments, the situation in the Strait of Hormuz, the implementation of the agreement ending the Zionist regime’s military aggression against Lebanon, developments following the signing of the memorandum of understanding between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States, and the latest progress in the ongoing negotiations.
Martyred Leader Ayatollah Khamenei's Pure Body Arrives at Imam Khomeini Mosalla in Tehran
On Thursday evening, following the Maghrib and Isha prayers, the first farewell ceremony for the “Martyr of Iran” was held at the site of his martyrdom.
The gathering was attended by the families of the martyrs of the Second and Third Imposed Wars, the families of the martyrs of the Office of the Supreme Leader, and the families of the martyrs of the Vali Amr Protection Corps, who paid their final respects to the pure body of Grand Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei.
Two-Day Public Farewell Begins Saturday
The two-day public farewell ceremony for Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei will begin on Saturday morning at Imam Khomeini Mosalla in Tehran, with large numbers of mourners expected to arrive from across Iran. The ceremonies mark the beginning of the nation’s final public tribute to the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution. (PW)
