Two Martyred, Several Wounded in Israeli Strikes on Lebanon
Lebanon’s Health Ministry reports two killed and several wounded in Israeli air strikes targeting southern Lebanon and the Bekaa, despite the ceasefire.
Lebanon | PUREWILAYAH.COM — Lebanon’s Ministry of Public Health announced on Sunday an updated toll from Israeli air strikes targeting southern Lebanon and the Bekaa Valley, as Israeli violations continue despite the ceasefire agreement.
According to the Public Health Emergency Operations Center, the strikes resulted in two civilians martyred and several others wounded across multiple locations.
Civilian Casualties in South Lebanon and the Bekaa
The ministry reported that an Israeli strike targeting the area between Khirbet Selm and Kafardounin killed one civilian and wounded five others.
In a separate attack, another civilian was martyred in Dardghaya, located in the Tyre district.
The center also confirmed that one person was wounded in an Israeli attack on the al-Shaara area in the town of Janta, in the Baalbek district.
Ground and Aerial Violations Continue
In parallel with the air strikes, Al Mayadeen correspondents reported continued Israeli military activity on the ground in southern Lebanon.
Israeli occupation forces fired bursts of gunfire toward the outskirts of Alma al-Shaab, while Israeli artillery shelled the town of Marwahin with several shells. An Israeli drone also dropped a stun grenade between the towns of Rab Thalathin and Markaba.
Additionally, an Israeli Merkava tank advanced beyond the so-called border wall, opposite a newly established Lebanese Army position south of the town of Adaisseh.
Attacks Persist Despite Ceasefire
The Israeli occupation continues to carry out near-daily attacks across southern Lebanon and the Bekaa Valley, with drones and warplanes maintaining constant overflights.
These attacks persist despite the ceasefire agreement signed in November 2024, amid ongoing reports of repeated Israeli violations. (PW)
