Trump: We Lost Russia and India to China
The US president acknowledges Washington’s declining influence over Moscow and New Delhi following Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit in Beijing.
United States, PUREWILAYAH.COM - US President Donald Trump has publicly acknowledged that Washington has lost its influence over Russia and India to China.
His remarks came after the latest Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Beijing, which brought together Russian President Vladimir Putin, Chinese President Xi Jinping, and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump shared a group photo of Putin, Xi, and Modi, captioned: “It looks like we lost India and Russia to China. I wish them a long and prosperous future together.”
SCO Summit Showcases Strategic Partnerships
The SCO summit featured a series of bilateral and trilateral meetings, including a high-profile trilateral gathering between Putin, Xi, and Modi.
The meeting underscored growing cooperation among the three major powers in the face of challenges they see as directed by the West.
India’s Position in Global Balance Questioned
Modi’s presence alongside Putin and Xi has reignited debates over India’s position in the global power equation, particularly amid strained relations with Washington in recent months.
The optics of the meeting suggest a strengthening of India’s engagement with Russia and China, further complicating US foreign policy in Asia. (PW)
