Trump: Israel Will Lose U.S. Support if It Annexes the West Bank
Trump claimed that Israel would lose all American support if it proceeds with the annexation (occupation) of the West Bank.
United States, PUREWILAYAH.COM - U.S. President Donald Trump claimed that Israel would lose all American support if it proceeds with the annexation (occupation) of the West Bank.
According to Tasnim International News, the U.S. president told Time magazine:
“This will not happen, because I have made a promise to the Arab countries. You cannot do this right now. We have enjoyed a great deal of support from many Arab states.”
In the interview, conducted on October 15 and published on Thursday, Trump added:
“If such a thing happens, Israel will lose all the support of the United States.”
On Wednesday, the preliminary draft law to impose the Zionist regime’s “sovereignty” over the West Bank — meaning its formal annexation and occupation — passed its first reading in the Knesset with 25 votes in favor and 24 against.
According to the bill proposed by Avi Maoz, a member of the Israeli Knesset, the regime would take measures to extend its laws, judicial and administrative systems, and full authority over all areas where Israeli settlements have been established in the West Bank.
This preliminary bill will now return to the relevant committee for review before being brought back to the Knesset floor for second and third readings for final approval.
The submission of this annexation bill coincided with the visit of U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance to the occupied Palestinian territories, where he met with Benjamin Netanyahu, the prime minister of the Zionist regime. (PW)
