United States, PUREWILAYAH.COM - Donald Trump, the President of the United States, has accused former president Barack Obama of leaking classified information—an allegation that emerged after Obama’s remarks about the “reality of extraterrestrial beings” in a podcast sparked widespread media reaction.
According to a report published Friday by BBC, Trump said the United States government would begin a process to review and release documents related to “unidentified flying objects” (UFOs) and “unidentified anomalous phenomena” (UAPs).
UFO Files and Conflicting Narratives
The remarks came after Trump criticized Obama’s recent comments on the possibility of extraterrestrial life. Speaking to reporters, Trump said government agencies, including the United States Department of Defense, would be tasked with identifying relevant documents and preparing them for publication.
However, when asked about his own personal belief in the existence of extraterrestrial beings, Trump replied, “I don’t know if they are real or not.”
In recent days, Obama said in a media interview that during his presidency he had seen no evidence of contact between extraterrestrial beings and Earth, stressing that his remarks referred only to the statistical possibility of life existing elsewhere in the universe.
The issue of UFOs has once again drawn attention in the United States in recent years, with official bodies pledging greater transparency. The United States Department of Defense has previously stated that its investigations to date have found no evidence of encounters with extraterrestrial life, and that many reported sightings have conventional explanations.
