True Promise 4, Wave 86: IRGC Honors Martyred Lebanese Journalists
Coordinated missile and drone strikes target US and Israeli positions across the region, as Iran dedicates the operation to journalists silenced by Israeli aggression.
Iran, PUREWILAYAH.COM — The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has announced the launch of Wave 86 of Operation True Promise 4, dedicating the operation to Lebanese journalists martyred in a direct Israeli strike.
In its official statement, the IRGC said the operation was carried out in tribute to Al Mayadeen correspondent Fatima Ftouni, Al Manar correspondent Ali Sheaib, and Mohammad Ftouni, who were all martyred after the Israeli occupation targeted a clearly marked press vehicle in southern Lebanon.
Large-Scale Multi-Phase Operation
The IRGC stated that Wave 86 was executed in multiple phases, involving coordinated missile and drone strikes conducted by its Aerospace and Naval Forces.
The operation began at dawn on Sunday, honoring the “brave martyred journalists” as well as Armenian and Christian martyrs of the eight-year Sacred Defense and the Ramadan War.
Strategic US and Israeli Targets Hit
In the first phase, IRGC forces targeted infrastructure linked to US-Israeli aerial and drone operations, including weapons depots at the Victory base in Iraq, Arifjan base in Kuwait, and Al-Kharj base in Saudi Arabia.
Subsequent phases expanded the strikes to multiple locations, targeting US forces and Israeli occupation positions in Arad, Naqab, Tel Aviv, Erbil, the US Fifth Fleet in Bahrain, and Al Dhafra base in the UAE.
The IRGC added that circulating footage shows massive explosions, plumes of smoke, and the destruction of US multi-million-dollar aircraft—contradicting attempts by Western-aligned media to downplay the scale of the operation.
Killing the Voice of Truth
The Israeli strike that martyred the journalists was described as a deliberate attempt to silence the truth.
Fatima Ftouni was martyred when a clearly marked press vehicle was directly hit by precision missiles. Ali Sheaib and Mohammad Ftouni were also inside the vehicle at the time of the attack.
According to field reports, the vehicle was struck by four missiles. When ambulances arrived at the scene, Israeli forces targeted paramedics as well, resulting in the martyrdom of a medical responder—demonstrating a systematic pattern of targeting journalists and rescue teams.
Iran Condemns: “An Attempt to Assassinate the Truth”
Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi strongly condemned the attack, stating that the killing goes far beyond targeting individuals.
He said the act “clearly constitutes a deliberate killing aimed at assassinating the truth and silencing the voices of those who narrate reality.”
Araghchi added that the crime should serve as a serious alarm to the conscience of the world, amid the continued aggression of the Israeli occupation against civilians and media workers.
With the launch of Wave 86, the IRGC emphasized that the blood of martyrs—including journalists—will not be in vain, but will instead fuel further resistance against US military presence and Israeli aggression in the region.
The operation signals a continued escalation of strategic pressure on US-Israeli military networks across West Asia, delivering a clear message: attempts to silence the truth through violence will only strengthen the axis of resistance. (PW)
