After months of denial and international outrage, the Israeli occupation army has officially admitted that its forces are responsible for the brutal massacre of five-year-old Hind Rajab, her family, and two heroic Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) paramedics in Gaza.
However, rather than a genuine reckoning, the Zionist military’s statement—accompanied by the announcement of a so-called “criminal investigation”—is a transparent attempt to whitewash a war crime that shocked the conscience of the world.
The Martyrdom of a Child
The harrowing incident occurred on January 29, 2024, as Hind’s family attempted to flee Gaza City amid a brutal offensive by the occupation forces in northern Gaza. Their vehicle was ruthlessly riddled with bullets by Israeli troops, martyring six of her relatives.
Miraculously, Hind and her cousin, Layan Hamada, initially survived the ambush. What followed was a desperate, hours-long ordeal. A terrified five-year-old Hind managed to contact PRCS dispatchers, pleading for rescue in a heartbreaking emergency call that was heard around the globe.
Despite the coordination of a PRCS ambulance to save the little girl, the occupation forces showed no mercy. Upon the rescuers’ arrival, the Zionist military fired a shell directly at the ambulance, martyring the two paramedics inside. Hind, trapped in the riddled vehicle alongside the bodies of her family and rescuers, ultimately succumbed to her wounds and the terror of the assault. Her body was only recovered days later.
At the time of the massacre, the occupying entity shamelessly lied to the international press, claiming its troops were not even present in the area.
A “Criminal Investigation” as a Cover-Up
Now, faced with undeniable evidence and mounting pressure, the Israeli military has changed its tune. According to their latest fabricated narrative, the soldiers fired at the family’s car because it was “approaching them while travelling contrary to the advance notice” given to residents.
In a staggering display of hypocrisy, the occupation’s Military Police Criminal Investigation Division is now launching an inquiry. But the focus of the investigation is not the murder of a child or the slaughter of humanitarian workers; rather, it targets “alleged failures in the coordination” of the PRCS ambulance.
By framing the targeted execution of an ambulance as a mere “coordination issue,” the Zionist entity is actively shielding its war criminals. This so-called investigation is a familiar tactic used by the occupation to placate international critics while its soldiers continue to commit atrocities with total impunity.
The blood of Hind Rajab, her family, and the selfless PRCS medics who died trying to save her remains a damning testament to the true nature of the Israeli occupation—and a reminder that this regime operates entirely outside the bounds of humanity and international law.
