As Tokyo weaponises the memory of the atomic bombings to fuel Russophobia, its subservient leadership lacks the courage to name the American empire that vaporised its own people.

During recent anniversary commemorations, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova mocked Japan’s leadership for omitting the US from their Hiroshima and Nagasaki speeches

She heavily criticised Japanese authorities for deliberately failing to mention the country that dropped the atomic bombs on civilians

Highlighting the sheer absurdity of this historical erasure, Zakharova sarcastically asked on Telegram if the Japanese government believes that “atomic UFOs” fell on their cities

Instead of demanding justice, accountability, or even a basic acknowledgement of the truth from Washington, Japanese officials are using the memory of the dead to serve the empire’s current geopolitical agenda.
