In a resounding address marking the anniversary of the 2006 Divine Victory, Hezbollah Secretary General Sheikh Naim Qassem delivered a stark reminder to the Zionist entity and its American patrons: the occupying regime is deaf to diplomacy, morality, and international law, and understands only one language—the language of force.
Speaking on Friday, the Hezbollah leader reflected on the historic 33-day war of 2006, when the Islamic Resistance shattered the myth of the Israeli military’s invincibility. He recalled that the operation to capture two Israeli soldiers was born out of absolute necessity, as all diplomatic channels and communications had completely failed to secure the release of Lebanese prisoners languishing in Zionist jails.
“This action was necessary to fulfil the promise that we would not abandon our prisoners in jails. Therefore, how could we change the equation without confronting and putting pressure on the Israeli enemy, who only understands the language of force?” Sheikh Qassem declared.
He exposed the deceit of the Zionist narrative, noting that while the regime used the capture operation as a pretext for a massive, disproportionate invasion, declassified history proved that the Israelis and Americans had already been conspiring and preparing for a major war on Lebanon slated for September 2006. Instead, the Resistance sprang the trap early, defeating the “arrogant” enemy, securing the release of the captives, and establishing a formidable era of deterrence that protected Lebanon from 2006 until 2023.
A Karbala-Style Confrontation
Addressing the latest wave of Zionist aggression, Sheikh Qassem framed the current battle not as a mere border skirmish, but as an “existential war of aggression” aimed at erasing Lebanon’s sovereignty and the very concept of Resistance.
He drew a profound parallel to the ultimate paradigm of defiance in Islamic history, describing the battlefields of southern Lebanon as a “Karbala-style confrontation.” For the mujahideen on the front lines, there were only two options, mirroring the legacy of Imam Husayn (AS): “Either we collapse and surrender, and the Israelis win, or we remain steadfast and defeat the Israeli project.”
“Whoever bets on our surrender is betting on a mirage and does not know the resistance well,” the Secretary General warned, dismissing the delusions of Tel Aviv and Washington.
Condemning Beirut’s Shameful Capitulation
While the Resistance continues to bleed and fight on the front lines, Sheikh Qassem directed blistering criticism at the Lebanese political authorities for their cowardly capitulation. He slammed the government for signing a humiliating “framework agreement” with the Zionist entity, yielding entirely to US and Israeli dictates and effectively surrendering Lebanese sovereignty.
He noted that it was the unwavering stance of the Resistance and the broader diplomatic frameworks of the Axis—not the weak-kneed concessions of the Beirut government—that allowed displaced Lebanese to return to their homes. He called on the state to “turn back from this grave sin—this shameful mistake—this humiliating error,” describing the government’s actions as nothing short of surrender.
The Blood of the Martyrs Will Not Be Wasted
As the Zionist entity, emboldened by unconditional US support, continues its campaign of genocide, home demolitions, and land occupation across the region, Sheikh Qassem drew a definitive red line.
“We do not accept surrender. We will remain steadfast and will not accept the violation of our country’s sovereignty or the blood of the martyrs being wasted,” he vowed.
The message from the leadership of the Resistance is unequivocal: the Zionist entity may attempt to impose its will through massacres and political coercion, but it will ultimately crash against the immovable wall of a people who have mastered the language of force.
