In a staggering display of hypocrisy that exposes the fraudulent nature of the so-called American “War on Terror,” US President Donald Trump has officially removed top Al-Qaeda commanders, recruiters, and financiers from the list of designated terrorists. The delisting comes as the United States prepares to mark the 25th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks—a grim milestone that further underscores Washington’s deep, historical ties to the very Takfiri monsters it claims to fight.
According to a report by The Gray Zone, the Trump administration has scrubbed the names of key figures from the Syrian branch of Al-Qaeda off the US terror blacklist. Among the beneficiaries of this imperialist amnesty is Abdullah Muhaysini, a notorious Saudi cleric infamous for recruiting child soldiers and teenage suicide bombers to wreak havoc across Syria over the past decade. Muhaysini was directly involved in the videotaped massacre of 56 captive Syrian soldiers at the Abu-Dhuhur Air Base in 2015.
Shockingly, Muhaysini’s removal from the terror list came at the direct request of Abu Mohammed al-Julani, the self-proclaimed leader of Syria, a co-founder of Daesh, and the founder of Jabhat Al-Nusra (the Syrian branch of Al-Qaeda). Under the instructions of his Western handlers, al-Julani rebranded his terror outfit as Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) before successfully toppling the legitimate, democratically-elected government of President Bashar al-Assad in December 2024. Since then, al-Julani has been warmly received in the Oval Office by Trump, cementing his role as Washington’s local proxy and implementer of Zionist-American plots in the Levant.
The delisted roster also includes Abu Sulayman al-Muhajir, a top Al-Qaeda recruiter who fled Australia for Syria; Shafi Sultan Mohammed al-Ajmi, a major Kuwaiti financier who bankrolled Al-Nusra’s atrocities; and Abdul Samrez Jashari, an Albanian foreign fighter who has assumed a senior military role in Syria under al-Julani’s US-backed regime.
Proxies for Future Fitna
Political analysts and observers of the Axis of Resistance note that this move is no mere administrative oversight. By lifting sanctions on Al-Qaeda propagandists, funders, and recruiters responsible for gruesome atrocities, the United States is actively rehabilitating its favourite Takfiri tools. Washington aims to employ these militants once more to ignite a new series of covert operations, sectarian strife (fitna), and destabilisation campaigns across the region and beyond.
As America engages in performative mourning for the 25th anniversary of 9/11, its actions in Syria prove an undeniable truth to the free peoples of the world: the US empire does not fight terrorism; it creates, funds, and directs it to serve its hegemonic ambitions and crush any sovereign nation that dares to resist Western and Zionist domination.
