JENIN, Occupied Palestine — In a new testament to the unwavering spirit of Palestinian resistance and the sheer barbarism of the usurping Zionist entity, occupation forces have assassinated Fathi Khazem, widely revered as “Abu Raad.” The father of two prominent martyrs was gunned down during a brutal incursion into his home in the fiercely resistant city of Jenin early Friday.
A Legacy of Defiance and Sacrifice
Fathi Khazem, a retired colonel, became the living embodiment of Sumud (steadfastness) and a towering symbol of the armed resistance in the Jenin refugee camp following the martyrdom of his two heroic sons.
His son, the martyr Raad Khazem, shook the Zionist entity to its core with his heroic 2022 operation on Dizengoff Street in occupied Tel Aviv. His other son, the valiant field commander of the Al-Quds Brigades, Abdul Rahman Khazem, attained martyrdom in September 2022 while fiercely battling the encroaching Zionist terror squads.
Terrified by his enduring influence and unyielding support for the resistance fighters, the Zionist regime subjected Abu Raad to a relentless campaign of persecution. They bulldozed his family home, subjected him to constant military pursuit and detention, and even attempted to assassinate him via poisoning. Yet, none of these oppressive tactics could break a will forged in the fires of faith and resistance.
The Barbarism of the Occupation
According to local sources in Jenin, heavily armed Zionist troops stormed Abu Raad’s residence near the central roundabout and opened fire on the elder at point-blank range. In a display of the enemy’s utter disregard for humanity, the occupying forces deliberately blocked Palestinian ambulances from reaching the wounded father, leaving him to bleed until he embraced his Lord. Following his martyrdom, the Zionist forces abducted his pure body, transferring it to an undisclosed military location to deny his family and the people of Jenin their right to a dignified burial.
Ongoing Crimes in the West Bank
This cowardly assassination occurred amid a sweeping campaign of terror across the occupied West Bank. The occupying regime continues its relentless raids, abducting young men and targeting the families of resistance fighters. During the same Jenin incursion, several youths and the father of a wanted resistance fighter were dragged to Zionist detention centres.
A Father’s Reunion
Abu Raad Khazem has now been elevated to the highest ranks of martyrdom, finally reuniting in Paradise with his beloved sons, Raad and Abdul Rahman. As the Axis of Resistance and free people across the world mourn his passing, the blood of the Khazem family stands as an eternal testament: the path of resistance continues unbroken, and the divine promise of total liberation draws ever closer.
