Aid recipients were led to believe they were receiving anonymous gifts or basic support from the office of his father, Supreme Leader Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei, ensuring no trace of his personal name was attached to the work.

In addition to traditional seminary education, Ayatollah Sayyed Mojtaba Khamenei possesses a commanding grasp of modern sciences and innovative knowledge. At the behest of the Supreme Leader, he has conducted exhaustive strategic research on cultural threats, cultural industries, the resistance economy, communications, and social networks. To stay at the forefront of these fields, he directly reviews the latest academic articles in English and commissions translations of critical works from other languages.
His academic reach extends far beyond the traditional Hawza. In recent years, specialised groups focusing on civilisational studies, Islamic urban planning, technology, agriculture, food security, and hydroponics have held closed-door sessions with him. Distinguished university professors and modern experts have repeatedly expressed astonishment at the sheer breadth and depth of his knowledge in these contemporary fields.
It is within these highly specialised academic circles that leading professors have begun referring to him as a contemporary “Sheikh Baha’i”—a nod to the legendary polymath who mastered both theology and the practical sciences of his time. Ayatollah Sayyed Mojtaba Khamenei’s life remains a profound testament to Ikhlas (sincerity), proving that true service to the Wilayah and the Ummah often happens far away from the glare of the public eye.
