In a definitive move to codify its absolute sovereignty over the Persian Gulf’s most vital artery, the Iranian Parliament has advanced a strategic bill to prohibit the transit of military and logistical equipment belonging to the United States, the Zionist entity, and other hostile states through the Strait of Hormuz.
On Friday, the Parliament’s Shura Council approved the general outlines of the measure, signalling a major escalation in Tehran’s legal and strategic tightening of the chokehold on the US war economy.
Valiollah Bayati, spokesperson for the Iranian Parliament’s Committee on Internal Affairs and Councils, confirmed that a core provision of the approved bill explicitly bans “the transit and transportation through Hormuz of equipment and supplies belonging to the United States, the Israeli entity, and hostile states.”
Codifying Military Dominance into Law
This legislative manoeuvre directly follows a blistering statement from Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, which reaffirmed that the Strait remains firmly under Iranian military control. While the Pentagon has desperately tried to project an illusion of strength—claiming that maritime traffic through the waterway has returned to “normal”—Tehran has systematically dismantled this propaganda.
“Washington’s claims that vessels are passing normally through the Strait of Hormuz are nothing but lies and fabrications,” the Khatam al-Anbiya spokesperson declared, noting that the balance of power governing the Strait has not changed. The Islamic Republic continues to unilaterally determine the conditions under which any ship may cross.
By moving to legally ban US and Israeli assets, the Iranian legislature is effectively formalising the military reality on the water: the era of uncontested American naval hegemony in the Gulf is dead.
Mocking Washington’s “Media Hype”
According to Al Mayadeen’s correspondent in Tehran, Iranian officials view the latest rhetorical posturing from US President Donald Trump and his administration as a desperate attempt to compensate politically for Washington’s catastrophic failure to achieve its military objectives against Iran.
“Iran considers Trump’s statements regarding the Strait of Hormuz to be nothing more than media hype aimed at covering up the failure of the aggression to achieve its objectives,” the correspondent noted. Tehran’s stance is resolute: normal maritime activity will not resume simply because Washington wishes it so.
Adding diplomatic weight to the military and legislative pressure, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi issued a stark warning to the United States against relying on “fake intelligence” regarding the Strait, cautioning the White House against making a fatal miscalculation.
As the US and the Zionist regime continue to bleed economically and militarily in their failing aggression, Iran is systematically slamming shut the gates of Hormuz—first with its navy, and now with the full force of its law.
