Ten Israeli Soldiers Injured Near Gaza City
Israel’s Channel 7 confirmed that the injured soldiers belong to the Kfir Brigade, one of the units deployed in the ongoing ground operations around Gaza City.
Palestine, PUREWILAYAH.COM - Ten Israeli soldiers were injured on Sunday after a military jeep overturned on the outskirts of Gaza City, which has been under relentless Israeli assault for nearly a year.
The Hebrew-language news site Walla reported that a military Hummer flipped at around 5:15 a.m. local time in the northern Gaza Strip. The cause of the incident was not immediately disclosed.
According to the report, two of the soldiers were airlifted to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in al-Quds, while eight others were evacuated by ambulance. The Israeli military said an investigation into the accident was underway.
Kfir Brigade Soldiers Among the Injured
Israel’s Channel 7 confirmed that the injured soldiers belong to the Kfir Brigade, one of the units deployed in the ongoing ground operations around Gaza City.
In recent days, the Israeli army has moved thousands of infantry, armored, and engineering troops into Gaza City in an attempt to accelerate its invasion, which is widely viewed as an effort to re-establish full military control over the besieged enclave.
Israeli military sources cited by Walla estimate that around 70,000 Israeli troops are currently positioned in and around Gaza City.
Gaza Under Devastating Assault
Backed by the United States, Israel has been waging a devastating military campaign in Gaza since October 7, 2023.
According to Palestinian health authorities, the offensive has resulted in the killing of 65,208 people and the wounding of 166,271 others, the majority of them women and children.
The war has also pushed Gaza into famine conditions, with 442 people — including 147 children — reported to have died from hunger-related causes. (PW)
