“Tehran Unveils Mural Honouring Army Martyrs of 12-Day Conflict”
A tribute to 57 fallen soldiers, the artwork in Valiasr Square symbolises Iran’s unity, sacrifice, and defiance against Zionist aggression.
TEHRAN, PUREWILAYAH.COM – A striking new mural has been unveiled in Tehran’s iconic Valiasr Square, commemorating the sacrifices of 57 soldiers of the Islamic Republic of Iran Army who were martyred during the recent 12-day confrontation with the Zionist regime.
The artwork, titled “Army Sacrifices for the Nation,” was created by the Owj Arts and Media Organisation under the direction of artist Ali Khalaj. It bears the names of the fallen and features the inscription:
“The martyrs proved with their blood that the Army is sacrificed for the nation.”
Valiasr Square, long a focal point for murals expressing the Iranian-Islamic way of life and resistance against arrogance, now hosts this powerful memorial, underscoring the enduring spirit of resilience and national unity.
The mural’s unveiling follows the brutal Zionist missile and drone strikes of June 13, which targeted both civilian and military sites across Tehran and other cities. Those attacks killed and injured scores, including commanders, scientists, and ordinary citizens.
In response to the savage Zionist attack, the Islamic Republic of Iran launched Operation True Promise 3 on Friday night, unleashing a barrage of missiles against the occupied territories, targeting military bases, infrastructure, and strategic sites. The operation aimed to weaken Israel's military capabilities and demonstrate Iran’s resolve in defending its sovereignty. The escalation led to a highly destructive phase of the conflict, with both sides engaging in intense exchanges of fire.
As the dust settles, the new mural stands not only as a remembrance of the fallen but also as a bold reminder of Iran’s unshakable commitment to defend its sovereignty and honour in the face of aggression. (PW)
