In a resolute assertion of regional deterrence, prominent Iranian analyst Mohammad Marandi has delivered a blunt message to the Persian Gulf Arab states, warning that complicity in Washington’s economic strangulation of Tehran will carry severe physical consequences.
Addressing the governments of Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, and Bahrain, Marandi clarified the Islamic Republic’s strategic red lines. He emphasised that any nation aiding the United States in economic warfare is, by definition, waging a military war against Iran. Consequently, the critical oil infrastructure of these Gulf states would be deemed legitimate targets and thoroughly dismantled if they choose to act as proxies for American imperialism. The era of Gulf regimes enjoying regional stability while actively facilitating a siege on the Axis of Resistance is unequivocally over.
This firm deterrence posture coincides with growing alarm among Western observers regarding the fraying nerves of the American empire. US historian Peter Kuznick recently highlighted the severe miscalculations of the US political establishment, noting that Washington’s attempts to isolate the Islamic Republic have completely failed due to Tehran’s deep economic integration with independent global powers like China and Russia.
Cornered and increasingly irrelevant in West Asia, the US establishment is reportedly entertaining catastrophic escalations. Kuznick pointed to disturbing chatter within Washington corridors—including alarming remarks from reactionary lawmakers—suggesting that tactical nuclear weapons are actually being debated as a potential tool of aggression.
The convergence of these developments paints a clear picture: a declining, desperate hegemon is willing to risk global catastrophe to maintain its crumbling foothold in the region. However, as Tehran’s definitive warnings demonstrate, the Axis of Resistance possesses both the strategic depth and the unwavering resolve to neutralise any form of imperialist coercion, ensuring that those who facilitate aggression will bear the full brunt of the region’s defence.
