Tehran: No Plans on The Agenda for Talks With the United States
Parliament Security Chief Ebrahim Azizi Confirms No Direct or Indirect Negotiations Under Current Conditions
Iran, PUREWILAYAH.COM - Head of Iran’s Parliament National Security Committee, Ebrahim Azizi, stated on Saturday that Tehran has no plans on the agenda for talks with the United States, rejecting what he described as Washington’s excessive demands.
“Under the current circumstances, there are no negotiations between Iran and the United States, either directly or indirectly, through intermediaries or directly,” Azizi said.
He added that the path taken by the United States in recent years shows that negotiations would not bring any results for Iran.
“For that, we have no plans for negotiations and no action is being taken in this regard,” he noted.
Azizi said the U.S. offer of talks functions as a dictate rather than a genuine negotiation.
“What the United States is proposing under the guise of talks is more like a dictate and an order, and no country — especially the Islamic Republic of Iran, which enjoys national might, a great nation, and popular support — will ever enter into such negotiations,” he said.
Indirect Nuclear Talks Halted After Israeli Strikes
Tehran and Washington had held five rounds of indirect talks on Iran’s nuclear program before Israel launched a war on the Islamic Republic, including attacks on Iranian nuclear sites.
A sixth round of talks, mediated by Oman and scheduled to be held in Muscat, was cancelled following the Israeli raids, which killed more than a thousand people, including several top Iranian military officials and commanders.
Instead of condemning the attack, the United States targeted three Iranian nuclear facilities — an action described by Tehran as a betrayal of diplomacy.
Iran has called on the United States and Europe to demonstrate sincerity if they seek to rebuild trust with Tehran, emphasizing that they must respect the Islamic Republic’s rights and stop raising excessive demands. (PW)
