Iranian officials and strategic analysts emphasise that the Islamic Republic is fully transitioning to a wartime economy, preparing for a protracted conflict that could extend well beyond Donald Trump’s current presidency.
Rejection of Deceptive Diplomacy and Firm Preconditions
In a recent strategic discussion on Al Mayadeen, Mohammad Marandi, a prominent professor at the University of Tehran, dismantled Washington’s fabricated claims regarding direct negotiations with Tehran. Marandi clarified that no direct talks have occurred; instead, the two sides have only engaged in strictly indirect exchanges via mediators in separate rooms.
Iran has presented its seven non-negotiable preconditions, which remain absolutely steadfast. “These seven conditions will not be changed. None of them will be removed. The Americans have to adhere to all seven,” Marandi stated, exposing the American administration’s desperate attempts to use diplomatic theatre to deceive both its domestic public and the international community.
The Moral High Ground vs. Monstrous Threats
The stark contrast in leadership between the Islamic Republic and Global Arrogance has been laid bare. While the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution speaks from an unshakeable position of strength and honour—addressing the horrendous atrocities committed by Washington against the peoples of Iran and Gaza—Trump has resorted to monstrous threats, including the horrific suggestion of carrying out a “holocaust” in Iran.
Former FBI Special Agent Coleen Rowley condemned these aggressive postures, noting that what Trump is orchestrating constitutes a complete violation of international law. “A war of aggression is itself a violation of international law,” Rowley stressed, highlighting the devastating toll and the deaths of thousands, including innocent children.
Domestic Crises and the Vietnam Parallel
The US imperialist war machine is struggling to sell this illegal aggression to the American public, especially as domestic crises mount. With US fuel prices skyrocketing to nearly $5 a gallon, Trump’s political base is growing increasingly restless. Rowley drew sharp parallels between the current crisis and the Vietnam War era, where US presidents repeatedly promised that “peace is around the corner” to manipulate voters and stave off political fallout.
