TEHRAN — In a decisive and powerful address to the senior command of the nation’s military, the Supreme Leader and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Imam Sayyid Mojtaba Khamenei, outlined a robust strategic doctrine aimed at ensuring maximum deterrence against the Islamic Republic’s adversaries.
During a high-level meeting with top military brass, the Leader issued stark warnings to hostile powers, decreeing that any level of threat against Iran will be met with an “immediate, impactful, and geographically unrestricted response.”
Maximum Deterrence Through Intelligent Readiness
Emphasising that intelligent combat readiness is the fundamental prerequisite for a powerful confrontation, the Commander-in-Chief made it clear that the rules of engagement have evolved. Should Iran’s enemies dare to resume military or terrorist aggression, the Supreme Leader asserted, it will be the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic and the Iranian nation—not the aggressors—who dictate the time, place, and conditions under which those attacks will permanently end.
To maintain this strategic upper hand, the Leader underscored the critical need to fortify military intelligence architecture and deepen indigenous defence capabilities across both doctrine and tactics. He called for the rapid integration of emerging technologies to enhance modernised defence and security capacities, while simultaneously strengthening the spiritual foundations and the spirit of jihad among the troops. Furthermore, he directed that unremitting efforts be made to meet the livelihood needs and provide full support to Armed Forces personnel and their families.
Expanding the Enemy Target Database
In a highly significant operational directive, Imam Sayyid Mojtaba Khamenei ordered the comprehensive updating of the military’s target database. This crucial update ensures that all physical and non-physical assets belonging to the US-Zionist enemy are firmly within the crosshairs and reach of the Armed Forces, leaving no hostile infrastructure beyond Iran’s retaliatory capabilities.
The Nation as the Ultimate Shield
Highlighting the inseparable bond between the military and the people, the Leader described nationwide public support as a primary pillar of deterrence against anti-Iranian foreign powers and their domestic mercenaries. He praised the eight-month presence of the Iranian nation in public squares, describing it as a direct continuation of the “Eight-Year Sacred Defence.” This steadfast civilian mobilisation, standing shoulder-to-shoulder with the military, police, and Basij forces, remains the ultimate guarantor of Iran’s territorial integrity and the survival of the Islamic system.
Unity of the Resistance Front
Looking beyond Iran’s borders, the Leader expressed profound appreciation for the intelligent steadfastness of the Axis of Resistance across the region. He identified the “unity of operational domains” as a decisive factor with a strategic impact on the current geopolitical landscape. This unified front, he noted, is actively shaping a new political and security order in West Asia—one that will increasingly lay the groundwork for the unity of Muslim nations and the eventual formation of the New Islamic Civilisation.
Unprecedented Readiness and Munitions Production
During the meeting, top military officials, including Chief of the Joint Staff Major General Abdollahi, Army Commander-in-Chief Major General Hatami, and IRGC Commander-in-Chief Major General Vahidi, presented comprehensive operational reports. They briefed the Supreme Leader on the heightened state of readiness along the Persian Gulf coast, the Strait of Hormuz, the Sea of Oman, as well as the northwestern and southeastern borders.
The commanders also highlighted a multi-fold increase in the domestic production of key munitions, alongside advanced reconnaissance, support, and combat weaponry. Expressing his deep satisfaction with these strategic measures, the Commander-in-Chief tasked the senior generals with conveying his profound gratitude to all military, police, and Basij forces, the dedicated staff of the Ministry of Defence, and their esteemed families for their unwavering service to the Islamic Revolution.
