Sheikh Qassem: Resistance’s Weapons Will Not Be Taken, Surrender Means the End of Lebanon
Hezbollah Secretary-General says US-Israeli demands aim to dismantle Lebanon’s strength, warns that surrender would erase the country’s future
Lebanon, PUREWILAYAH.COM — Hezbollah Secretary-General Hujjat al-Islam wal-Muslimeen Sheikh Naim Qassem reaffirmed that the weapons of the resistance will not be relinquished under any circumstances, stressing that surrender would mean the disappearance of Lebanon itself.
“Let America know,” Sheikh Qassem said, “we will defend ourselves even if the sky collapses upon the earth. Weapons will not be stripped to achieve Israel’s objectives, even if the entire world wages war on Lebanon.”
Land, Weapons, and Spirit Are One Indivisible Reality
Sheikh Qassem stressed that Lebanon’s land, weapons, and spirit form a single, inseparable equation.
“Understand this well,” he said. “Land, weapons, and spirit are one cohesive whole. Touching one means touching all three. Attempting to strip them is an execution of our existence—and we will not allow this.”
He affirmed that the resistance will not retreat from its position, describing it as “the most honorable national stance,” one that requires no validation from those with “a black criminal history, a history of sedition, or a history of corruption.”
Sheikh Qassem highlighted four major achievements of the resistance: liberating the land, remaining steadfast, deterring the enemy, and halting the invasion of Lebanon in the Battle of Uli al-Ba’s.
Surrender Means the Erasure of Lebanon
Warning of the consequences of capitulation, Sheikh Qassem said that surrender would erase Lebanon’s identity, history, and future.
“If they kill us, our blood will give birth to new life,” he said. “But if Lebanon surrenders, its impact ends, its history is erased, and it becomes a country with no future. With Israel, there is no place for Muslims in Lebanon, and no place for Christians in Lebanon.”
He cautioned that the project targeting Lebanon is extremely dangerous and could lead to the country’s disappearance, explaining that the goal is to weaken the resistance while keeping the army minimally armed so that Lebanon remains powerless.
Weapon Exclusivity Is a US-Israeli Demand
Sheikh Qassem rejected claims that Lebanon’s crisis stems from the issue of exclusive weapons, saying this narrative serves US-Israeli interests.
“The problem of the state is not weapon exclusivity in order to rebuild the country,” he said. “Weapon exclusivity in the form currently proposed is a US-Israeli demand, and under American-Israeli logic it amounts to executing Lebanon’s strength.”
He asserted that Lebanon’s real problems lie in sanctions and rampant corruption, adding that these conditions are the result of American actions since 2019 aimed at destabilizing the country and spreading chaos to prevent it from acting independently.
Sheikh Qassem criticized figures promoting the US-Israeli demand for weapon exclusivity, describing them as agents of sedition and pioneers of corruption who have no right to speak.
The Enemy Sought to Eliminate Hezbollah—and Failed
Sheikh Qassem revealed that the enemy’s plan, following the assassination of Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and other martyrs and the targeting of Hezbollah’s capabilities, was to eliminate the resistance entirely.
“We fought the Battle of Uli al-Ba’s and succeeded in preventing the enemy from achieving this goal,” he said.
He added that Israel itself now admits that the results of its war on Lebanon are eroding, noting that Israel failed to achieve its objectives and that “the existence of the resistance means the existence of life.”
Sheikh Qassem stated that unity and steadfastness could prevent another war, but warned that those serving Israel inside Lebanon encourage aggression against their own country. Even if war occurs, he said, it will not achieve its goals.
The US Role and the Ceasefire Phase
Sheikh Qassem emphasized that Israel will not go to war without an American decision, stating that if the United States acts for its own interests, it will seek a solution—but if it prioritizes Israel over Lebanon’s existence, Lebanon would face an existential choice: surrender or resistance.
He confirmed that Lebanon has entered a new phase following the ceasefire agreement, a phase that supersedes what came before it. In this phase, the state is responsible for sovereignty, protecting Lebanon, expelling occupation, and deploying the army.
“The resistance fulfilled all its obligations in implementing the agreement and assisting the Lebanese state,” he said, adding that any attempt to judge the current stage using pre-agreement arguments has no value.
Sheikh Qassem noted that Lebanon has fully implemented its commitments, while Israel has taken no steps toward implementation, viewing all Israeli actions after the agreement as a continuation of aggression that threatens Lebanon.
Deterrence Is the State’s Responsibility, Resistance Rejects Surrender
Sheikh Qassem clarified that while the resistance is required to maintain faith, readiness for sacrifice, and continuity, it is not tasked with preventing aggression.
“Deterrence—the prevention of aggression—is the responsibility of the state and the army,” he said. “The role of the resistance is to support the state and the army, assist in liberation, and confront the enemy when the state or the army cannot.”
He stressed that Hezbollah is ready for maximum cooperation with the Lebanese army and agrees to a defensive strategy that benefits from Lebanon’s strength and its resistance—but will never accept any framework that leads to surrender to “the Israeli entity and the American tyrant.”
Women of the Resistance: Pillars of Dignity and the Nation’s Future
Sheikh Qassem delivered these remarks during the Fatimiyyah Gathering, organized by Hezbollah’s Women’s Action Unit to mark the birth anniversary of Lady Fatima al-Zahra (peace be upon her) under the theme “On the Covenant.”
He praised Lady Fatima as the supreme role model for women worldwide and the highest example of authentic Muhammadan Islam, describing her as a model for all humanity.
“I am proud of the resisting woman—the daughter, the mother, the wife, and the grandmother,” he said. “You are the banners of dignity, ethics, resistance, and national loyalty.”
Sheikh Qassem hailed women as pioneers in educating future generations, thanking God for living in a time alongside women who confront the enemy and moral deviation.
Addressing women directly, he said: “You are partners in shaping the future of Lebanon and its rising generations. Contribute with the abilities God has granted you, cooperate with the women of Lebanon, and remain steadfast.”
He described hijab as “the banner of piety” and affirmed that women’s resistance roles—whether as daughters, mothers, or wives—have contributed decisively to the achievements of the resistance. (PW)
