Sheikh Qassem: Resistance Defeated Israeli Project, No Option but Full Withdrawal from Lebanon
The Hezbollah Chief says Lebanon has entered a new phase after the Resistance defeated Israel’s project, while praising Iran’s role and reaffirming Ayatollah Sayyed Mojtaba Khamenei’s leadership.
Lebanon, PUREWILAYAH.COM – Hezbollah Secretary-General Sheikh Naim Qassem declared that Lebanon, its Resistance, its army, and its people have entered a new phase marked by the failure of what he described as Israel’s project to eliminate Hezbollah and advance the Greater Israel agenda.
Speaking during Hezbollah’s Central Ashura Council on Tuesday, the Lebanese Resistance leader said years of military, political, social, and cultural pressure failed to achieve their objective of destroying the Resistance.
“We are now in a new phase in the history of Lebanon, its Resistance, its army, its people, and its future—a phase called breaking the Israeli project,” he said.
Ayatollah Sayyed Mojtaba Khamenei Leads the Front of Truth
The Hezbollah chief said the Islamic Ummah continues to benefit from the guidance of the Wali al-Faqih, Ayatollah Sayyed Mojtaba Khamenei, whose mission extends beyond the borders of any single nation.
According to Sheikh Naim, the role of the Wali al-Faqih is to guide the divine project on earth and prepare the ground for the Ummah’s ultimate objectives.
“Thanks to the immense struggles and sacrifices of the martyrs of the path of truth, the Islamic Ummah today enjoys the blessing of the guidance of the Wali al-Faqih, Ayatollah Sayyed Mojtaba Khamenei,” he said.
The Resistance leader added that this path is a continuation of the school of Imam Husain (as) and directs society toward the noble reappearance of Imam al-Mahdi (aj).
Lebanon Has Entered the Phase of Breaking the Israeli Project
Turning to the war, Sheikh Naim said Lebanon, its people, its army, and the Resistance have entered a new stage defined by the failure of Israel’s long-term plans.
“We are now in a new phase in the history of Lebanon, its Resistance, its army, its people, and its future—a phase called breaking the Israeli project,” he said.
The party’s Secretary-General stated that Israel’s objective was not merely military victory but the comprehensive destruction of Hezbollah and its support base politically, culturally, socially, and militarily as part of the Greater Israel project.
According to him, years of confrontation ended with the failure of that objective because of the steadfastness displayed on the battlefield.
“If the battlefield had collapsed, Israel would have taken a major step toward eliminating Hezbollah and advancing the Greater Israel project,” he said.
The Lebanese Resistance leader added that the sacrifices of martyrs, wounded fighters, prisoners, and their families played a decisive role in securing that outcome.
Hezbollah’s Support for Iran Changed the Course of the Battle
Sheikh Naim said Hezbollah’s actions during the war reflected a deliberate strategic decision rather than a spontaneous reaction.
He explained that the Resistance moved beyond the phase of strategic patience and entered direct confrontation after determining that conditions on the ground had changed.
The Hezbollah Secretary-General said the movement’s practical and public support for the Islamic Republic of Iran introduced a new factor into the regional balance of power.
According to him, many regional and international actors repeatedly sought to determine Hezbollah’s position in the event of a war involving Iran, the United States, and Israel.
“The enemies expected the Lebanese Resistance to remain silent if Iran came under attack so that Iran could be targeted in isolation,” he said.
Instead, Hezbollah entered what he described as a phase of practical support once the appropriate moment arrived.
The Resistance leader argued that the level of resilience demonstrated by Iran and Hezbollah exceeded the expectations of Israel, the United States, and their allies.
Iran Refused Any Agreement That Left Lebanon Behind
The Hezbollah chief praised Iran’s leadership and support throughout the conflict, saying Tehran remained committed to Lebanon despite intense pressure.
He revealed that Iran refused to separate its own interests from those of Lebanon during negotiations.
“Iran did not accept an agreement to end the war against itself unless it also ended the war against Lebanon,” he said.
According to Sheikh Naim, this position demonstrated the sincerity and loyalty of the Islamic Republic and disproved claims that Tehran would abandon its allies in pursuit of its own interests.
He added that without Iran’s support, countries across the region would have faced far greater difficulties in confronting external pressure.
No Option but Full Withdrawal from Lebanon
Addressing the post-war phase, Sheikh Naim insisted that Israel had failed to achieve its objectives and that the next step must be the complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from Lebanese territory.
“There is no option before Israel except complete withdrawal from all Lebanese territory,” he said.
The Hezbollah Secretary-General outlined what he described as Lebanon’s legitimate demands, including an end to Israeli attacks by land, air, and sea, the return of prisoners, the return of residents to border areas, and reconstruction efforts.
He also rejected any Israeli role in determining Lebanon’s internal affairs, saying decisions concerning the country’s future belong solely to the Lebanese people.
Concluding his remarks, Sheikh Naim said the Resistance remains Lebanon’s most reliable guarantee for defending sovereignty, independence, and national rights, arguing that steadfastness on the battlefield prevented Israel from imposing its objectives on Lebanon. (PW)
