Sheikh Qassem Reaffirms Path of Resistance on Martyr’s Day: We’re Undefeated
The blood of our martyrs and the sacrifices of our people push us forward. We are undefeated — granted either victory or martyrdom.”
Lebanon, PUREWILAYAH.COM - On Martyr’s Day, Hezbollah Secretary-General His Eminence Sheikh Naim Qassem delivered a resolute and deeply spiritual address under the slogan “When We Are Martyred, We Triumph,” paying tribute to the Ummah’s Martyr, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, whose name now symbolizes eternal resistance, dignity, and faith in the path of liberation.
Speaking to massive gatherings organized across 11 Lebanese regions, from Beirut and Nabatieh to Baalbek and Hermel, Sheikh Qassem reaffirmed that the movement of the martyrs is not a movement of sorrow, but of victory and steadfastness. “The martyr rejects humiliation and seeks only to live freely and honorably,” he declared.
Martyr Ahmad Qassir: The Model of Faith and Sacrifice
The commemoration coincided with the anniversary of the martyrdom operation carried out by Ahmad Qassir, a young resistance fighter whose self-sacrifice in 1982 shattered the Israeli occupation’s command headquarters in Tyre, killing 76 Israeli officers and soldiers and wounding 118 others.
Sheikh Qassem described Qassir’s operation — planned under the supervision of Haj Imad Mughniyeh and Haj Abu Al-Fadl Karaki — as “a defining act of faith that drew the map of liberation for all who walk the path of martyrdom.”
“Ahmad Qassir’s blood nurtured our generation, built our faith, and paved the way for Israel’s humiliating withdrawal in 2000,” Sheikh Qassem said. “Every martyr since — whether on the battlefield or in service to this cause — shares in that same eternal honor.”
Resistance: Lebanon’s Shield Against Occupation
Sheikh Qassem emphasized that Hezbollah was born from the necessity to resist occupation, not from external ambitions or internal divisions. He recalled that when Israel invaded Lebanon in 1982, it sought to dominate the land under the guise of expelling Palestinian factions — but instead, it faced the rise of the Islamic Resistance.
“Israel withdrew not through negotiations or political deals,” he said, “but through the blows of the Resistance and the will of the people. From 2000 to 2023, deterrence prevailed because of the golden equation that kept the enemy at bay.”
During the Formidable in Might battle, he noted, 75,000 Israeli troops failed to advance more than a few hundred meters, proving once again that faith and steadfastness overpower weapons and arrogance.
Lebanon’s Sovereignty Under U.S. and Israeli Pressure
Sheikh Qassem condemned the ongoing American and Israeli interference in Lebanon’s internal affairs, warning that Washington’s so-called “aid” and military support to the Lebanese Army aim to pit it against the Resistance, not against the real enemy.
“Tom Barrack openly admitted he wants to arm the Lebanese Army to confront its own people,” Sheikh Qassem revealed. “How can any government accept such humiliation?”
He criticized the government’s obsession with the issue of disarming Hezbollah while ignoring Israeli violations, saying:
“The UNIFIL spokesperson documented more than 7,000 Israeli violations, while Hezbollah committed none. Yet they claim Lebanon is the problem — when the real problem is Israel.”
He stressed that Lebanon’s sovereignty must not be negotiated, calling on the government to set a national plan to reclaim the occupied territories south of the Litani River and demand the withdrawal of Israeli forces as stipulated in the ceasefire agreement of November 27, 2024.
Unbreakable Will: “Either We Live with Honor, or We Die with Honor”
In one of the speech’s most powerful passages, Sheikh Qassem declared:
“America and Israel must despair; we are the children of Hussein, the children of this steadfast land. We will not hand over our country to devils. Either we live with honor, or we die with honor.”
He affirmed that the Resistance will never abandon its weapon, which remains “the sacred tool to defend our land, our people, and our dignity.”
“We will not kneel and we will remain standing,” he said. “This is the era of steadfastness and the making of independence. Our choice is clear — victory or martyrdom.”
Solidarity with Palestine, Iran, Yemen, and Iraq
Sheikh Qassem extended heartfelt greetings to the Palestinian people and their Resistance, calling them “heroes who taught the world what it means to stand for justice.” He reaffirmed that Palestine remains the compass of all struggles.
He also saluted the Islamic Republic of Iran, its leadership, and Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei, describing them as “the loving supporters of the Resistance.”
In closing, Sheikh Qassem honored the martyrs Qassem Soleimani, the people of Yemen — “the vanguard of liberation” — and Iraq, its government, people, and tribes, for their unwavering support.
“The blood of our martyrs and the sacrifices of our people push us forward. We are undefeated — granted either victory or martyrdom.”
A Message to the Arrogant Powers
Sheikh Naim Qassem’s address on Martyr’s Day was not merely a commemoration — it was a strategic message of defiance to both the United States and the Zionist entity: Lebanon’s Resistance remains firm, its society alive, and its faith unshaken.
As he concluded, his words echoed through the hearts of the faithful:
“This is an era of steadfastness. We will not surrender. We will triumph — in life or in martyrdom.” (PW)
