Sheikh Qassem: No Stability in Lebanon Without an End to Israeli Aggression
As Lebanon endures relentless Israeli assaults, Hezbollah’s leadership reiterates that true stability will only come through resistance and the end of all Israeli violations and US interference
Lebanon, PUREWILAYAH.COM — Hezbollah Secretary-General Sheikh Naim Qassem affirmed that the Israeli occupation has failed to achieve its objectives in Lebanon despite broad international complicity, stressing that Lebanon’s stability depends on halting Israeli violations and aggression.
Speaking at the launch of the book “Singing and Music: Research by Imam Khamenei,” Sheikh Qassem denounced American interference in Lebanon and the region as “extremely malicious,” describing Washington as the main force leading genocide and massacres.
He warned the US administration and its special envoy Tom Barrack against continued threats to Lebanon and attempts to integrate the country into the so-called ‘Greater Israel’ project.
Sheikh Qassem stated that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s plans for a ‘Greater Israel’ ultimately serve US imperial interests, adding that the future of the Israeli entity remains uncertain despite all its killing and destruction.
He dismissed US President Donald Trump’s recent appearance at the Sharm el-Sheikh summit as nothing more than a display of domination rather than peace.
Hezbollah’s Weapons Are Lebanon’s Strength and Sovereignty
The Hezbollah Secretary-General reaffirmed that Lebanon will not give Israel or America what they want as long as there is a proud and resilient people willing to sacrifice.
He emphasized that Hezbollah’s weapons form an essential part of Lebanon’s sovereignty and defense, asserting that disarmament will not solve the problem because “Israel does not want a strong Lebanon.”
Sheikh Qassem urged the Lebanese government to defend national sovereignty, oversee reconstruction, and end official misconduct, calling for accountability against corrupt officials, including the Central Bank governor and the justice minister, warning that they “should not act as employees of Washington or Tel Aviv.”
Lebanon Must Serve Its People, Not Foreign Powers
Sheikh Qassem stressed that Lebanon is not a prison for its citizens, insisting that the country must be governed by a national administration that serves the interests of its people, not external powers.
Lebanese Deputy Prime Minister Tarek Mitri told that the Israeli occupation had earlier requested, through intermediaries, to engage in political negotiations — a proposal Beirut rejected, limiting discussions strictly to military representatives.
Mitri revealed that Washington’s mediation initiative promised to pressure “Israel” into respecting previous agreements — a commitment that never materialized. The US proposal accepted by Lebanon was ultimately rejected by the Israeli side, he said.
He noted that “Israel” continues daily violations of the ceasefire agreement signed on November 27, 2024, showing “no genuine intention to comply” in the ongoing al-Naqoura negotiations.
Ongoing Israeli Aggression in Southern Lebanon
Since the ceasefire, Israeli occupation forces have maintained a near-daily pattern of airstrikes, shelling, and drone attacks across southern Lebanon.
On October 18, a Lebanese civilian was killed in Deir Kifa after an Israeli drone fired three missiles at a bulldozer, according to the Ministry of Public Health’s Emergency Operations Center.
Two days earlier, on October 16, Israeli forces launched a series of violent airstrikes targeting the al-Dabsheh hill near Kfar Tibnit and the Kawthariya al-Siyyed–al-Sharqiya main road, marking a serious escalation and a flagrant violation of the ceasefire agreement.
