Beirut — In a resolute address marking the launch of a foundation dedicated to the legacy of Martyr Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, Hezbollah Secretary-General Sheikh Naim Qassem declared that the total liberation of southern Lebanon is now “before our eyes,” asserting that the Zionist occupation will inevitably be forced out in humiliation.
Speaking on Tuesday at the inauguration of the Foundation for the Preservation and Publication of the Heritage of Sayyed Nasrallah, Sheikh Qassem paid tribute to the late leader, defining Martyr Nasrallah as the “foremost resistance fighter of the modern era.”
“If we want to define the resistance in the modern era,” Sheikh Qassem stated, the Martyr Sayyed is the prime definition of a commander who worked with all resistance fighters around the world to foster unity and interaction across the Axis of Resistance. He emphasised that the steadfastness of the Islamic Resistance today is among the lasting blessings of Martyr Nasrallah’s unparalleled guidance.
The Inevitable Expulsion of the Zionist Enemy
Addressing the ongoing Zionist aggression and the persistent ceasefire violations in southern Lebanon, the Hezbollah leader dismissed the notion that the usurping entity could maintain its grip on Lebanese soil.
“The liberation of southern Lebanon is before our eyes,” Sheikh Qassem proclaimed. “Israel will not be able to remain in the south, even if it takes some time.” He stressed that the path to a true solution “begins with the enemy leaving in humiliation, along with the Americans who support it.”
Reaffirming the unshakeable resolve of the fighters, Sheikh Qassem declared, “Do not ask us what we will do because we cannot but be a resistance as long as this enemy exists.” He reminded the audience that while wars unfold in rounds, “the final round will belong to the people of the land, the rightful cause, and to whosoever followed the path of the mujahideen and martyrs.”
Honouring a Legacy of Jihad and Karbala
The newly launched institution, approved by Hezbollah’s Shura Council and operating under the supervision of the Secretary-General, aims to preserve the “immense legacy” of Martyr Nasrallah for researchers and future generations. Sheikh Qassem highlighted how the late leader’s vision was deeply rooted in the teachings of Islam, the spirit of Jihad, and the eternal ethos of Imam Hussain (AS) through the commemoration of Ashura.
A Message of Regional Solidarity
Expanding on the broader struggle against American imperialism and Zionism, Sheikh Qassem offered profound praise for the Iraqi people, their religious authority, and the Popular Mobilisation Forces (PMF) for successfully expelling the American occupier from Iraq.
Turning to Palestine, he highlighted the profound injustice faced by the Palestinian people at the hands of the Zionist regime and its US benefactors, asserting that given their immense sacrifices and nobility, “it must emerge victorious.”
Concluding his address, the Hezbollah chief firmly rejected any foreign interference in Lebanon’s domestic affairs, stating, “We are ready to handle internal matters on the basis of the Constitution and laws, but without American interventions or dictates from abroad.”
