Sheikh Qassem: Iran Stood Alone Against Global Tyranny and Emerged Victorious
Hezbollah’s Secretary-General hails Iran’s strategic resilience, people’s unity, and revolutionary leadership as key pillars that defeated the Israeli-American aggression.
Lebanon, PUREWILAYAH.COM — In a powerful speech delivered during the first night of Ashura commemorations at Sayyed al-Shuhada Complex in Beirut’s southern suburbs, Hezbollah Deputy Secretary-General Sheikh Naim Qassem praised the Islamic Republic of Iran for withstanding and defeating a coordinated assault led by the United States and Israel.
Speaking to a large audience, Sheikh Qassem emphasized that Iran’s victory was achieved without the support of allies or international supply lines — relying solely on its indigenous capabilities and revolutionary will.
Iran Fought Alone – and Won
“Iran proved that it can, on its own, confront this global tyrant, the criminal Israel, and a significant portion of European backing,” Sheikh Qassem declared.
“No country fought alongside Iran, no military support reached it, and yet, with its self-built capabilities, it stood firm and dealt heavy blows to the Israeli entity.”
He affirmed that Iran’s steadfastness under extreme pressure was a testimony to its revolutionary vitality and capacity for sacrifice:
“Blessed be Iran — youthful, giving, and selfless — it inflicted damage that pushed Israel to cry out for American help, revealing that without U.S. backing, the Zionist regime could not survive.”
Strategic Position Secured — Without Compromise
Sheikh Qassem stated that Iran had consolidated its regional and international standing by holding firm to its principles and making no concessions.
“Iran today is stronger than before the war. It is a pillar of resistance, a partner to its neighbors and allies, and fully capable of ensuring collective regional security — without America or its allies,” he said.
He added that Iran had exposed the true motives of the American intervention:
“The U.S. stepped in only to protect Israel as it carries out genocide in Gaza, while the world watches in silence. Let the world learn from Iran, which stood and emerged victorious.”
Why the Aggression? Iran’s Crime: Supporting Palestine
Sheikh Qassem posed a critical question: “Why was this aggression launched against Iran?”
He answered plainly:
“The core goal of the U.S. and Israel was to crush any independent and weighty force that supports the resistance and the liberation of Palestine. Iran’s crime was that it stood by the Palestinian people in reclaiming their occupied land and sanctities.”
He warned that Israel remains an expansionist regime, never content with the occupation of all of Palestine or the Golan Heights:
“Israel wants to dominate the entire region. Its attack on Iran was part of this expansionist agenda.”
Exposing the Nuclear Lie
Sheikh Qassem dismissed the repeated accusations about Iran’s nuclear program:
“Their excuse is that Iran is approaching nuclear weapons, while Iran has always maintained — and the IAEA has confirmed — that its program is peaceful. Yet they use this lie to justify war.”
He emphasized the international outcry that followed the assault:
“Despite all America’s actions, nearly the entire world — states and peoples — condemned the aggression. It was clearly a criminal and unjustified act.”
Iran Defeated All Objectives of the War
Sheikh Qassem declared the attack on Iran a strategic failure, saying all three of its primary objectives had collapsed:
Eliminating nuclear enrichment: “Iran continues its enrichment and can repair any damages.”
Destroying Iran’s missile capabilities: “Yet missiles kept raining down on the enemy.”
Toppling the Islamic system: “That never happened. The leadership and the people stood firm.”
“Iran foiled every objective of the aggression. The enemy’s attack collapsed — and so did its credibility.”
Unmatched National Unity and Leadership
Hezbollah’s Secretary-General pointed to the overwhelming popular support behind the Iranian system and its leader:
“There is unprecedented popular consensus around the leadership of Imam Khamenei. The people stood with the IRGC and armed forces. This is the fruit of the revolution’s seeds — it bore real results in both people and power.”
Sheikh Qassem outlined the three pillars of Iran’s unmatched strength:
A wise and courageous leader — “A leader who walks into the battlefield without fear, confident in victory.”
A historically resilient nation — “Since the victory of the Islamic Revolution, through the Iran-Iraq war, the nation has endured and won.”
A sacrificing military force — “The IRGC and security forces that have defended Palestine and now defend their homeland.”
Ashura: The Root of Resistance
Turning to the spirit of Ashura, Sheikh Qassem drew a direct line between the sacrifice of Imam Hussein and today’s resistance movements:
“We commemorate Ashura to return to our roots — to the essence that shaped who we are. Imam Hussein rejected submission even at the cost of death. ‘Far from us is disgrace!’ — this is our compass.”
He said this year’s slogan “We will never abandon you, O Hussein” captures the essence of the resistance’s moral path.
“This was the path of Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah — who gave his life under the banner of Hussein. This is also the path of martyr Sayyed Hashem Safieddine and all our martyrs across the Ummah.”
He concluded with a rallying message:
“To you, people of resistance — you have lifted the pride of the Ummah high. You proved that Hussein lives in us, and that you will remain loyal to Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah until we achieve all our goals — either victory or martyrdom. This is the path of Imam Hussein.” (PW)
