Sheikh Qasem: The Region Faces an Exceptional and Dangerous Turning Point
Hezbollah Secretary-General Highlights Israeli Expansionism, Warns of Regional Danger, and Urges Saudi Arabia to Align Against the Common Enemy
Lebanon, PUREWILAYAH.COM - The Secretary-General of Hezbollah, His Eminence Sheikh Naim Qassem, affirmed that the entire region is facing an exceptional and dangerous political turning point, stressing that the usurping Zionist presence is expansionist in nature, intended to be a part of the West, a tool for America, and a scarecrow for the region.
He explained that this expansionist presence prevents the region from gaining independence and from pursuing the choices of its people, making it a mere appendage to the Western economic, political, and cultural project. Whoever refuses to accept this scarecrow or resists it, he warned, will face the stick of killing and extermination.
Israel as a Colonial Expansionist Project
Sheikh Qassem emphasized that “Israel” is an expansionist colonial entity, backed by America and the West, seeking to dominate the region and eliminate its options.
He clarified that this entity has reached the height of criminality and savagery, showing no commitment to any humanitarian, legal, international, or human rights principles, with full support from the American administration.
He stressed that soft war, sanctions, the Madrid Agreements, and the Abraham Accords have failed to achieve the quick victories desired by America and “Israel.
”
Netanyahu’s Declaration and the Greater Israel Project
Sheikh Qassem added that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu clearly announced his aim to create “Greater Israel,” to redraw the map of the Middle East, to eliminate resistance across the region, to annihilate Hamas, and to expel the Palestinian people from Gaza as a first stage before occupying the West Bank.
He noted that the Israeli strike in Qatar must be a message to Qatar and to all other countries, stressing that the situation before the strike is different from after it. “After the strike, everything was exposed, and the expansionist Israeli project is now unavoidable,” he said.
Targeting Resistance and Regional States
Sheikh Qassem explained that after Qatar, the targeting now extends to resistance forces, regimes, peoples, and every geographic and political obstacle standing in the way of “Greater Israel.”
He said the ultimate goal includes Palestine, Lebanon, Egypt, Jordan, Iraq, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, and Iran — all as sequential steps — followed by Turkey and the rest of the region until “Israel” becomes the so-called “Great Israel.”
Unity Against the Common Enemy
He stressed that everyone — states, regimes, peoples, and resistance movements — must confront the Israeli danger. The only way, he said, is unity against the common enemy. “Israel is the danger, not the resistance,” he declared, noting that its threat extends to Arabs, Muslims, Christians, and humanity at large.
He said the required measures must be aimed at stopping the enemy, not aiding its expansionist project. If “Israel” is not treated as the first and only enemy, with America behind it, no one in the region will succeed.
Call to Saudi Arabia
Sheikh Qassem called on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to open a new page with the resistance under defined principles, including:
Dialogue that addresses problems, responds to concerns, and secures interests.
Dialogue built on the premise that “Israel” is the enemy, not the resistance.
Freezing past disputes, at least during this exceptional stage, to confront and curb “Israel.”
Affirming that the weapons of the resistance are directed solely against the Israeli enemy, not against Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, or any other state.
Recognizing that pressure on the resistance means a direct profit for Israel, and that the absence of resistance means other states will be targeted next.
Acknowledging that the resistance in Palestine is part of this broader resistance, forming a protective barrier against Israeli expansion.
Lebanon’s Position and the Role of Resistance
He pointed out that Lebanon lies within the map of “Greater Israel,” and that there is a need to build the country together. He recalled Hezbollah’s experience in confronting the enemy during the “Battle of First Might,” participating in presidential and governmental elections, and cooperating even with political rivals for legislation and governance.
He confirmed that the national course must be supported by understandings that prevent serving “Israel.”
Sheikh Qassem asserted that “Israel” cannot and will not end the resistance, which will remain dignified and steadfast. He affirmed that the steadfastness of the fighters will ultimately lead to the enemy’s defeat, and humiliation is not an option.
The U.S. Role and Its Pressures
He touched on the American role, stressing that the United States gives the Lebanese army only enough weapons to manage internal affairs. He accused Washington of hostility toward Lebanon and of blocking reconstruction as part of its pressure against the resistance and its popular base.
He called for unifying efforts to expel “Israel” and to rebuild Lebanon, hold parliamentary elections on time, prioritize reconstruction, accelerate financial and economic reform, fight corruption, and engage in constructive dialogue on national security strategy.
He stressed that dialogue and understanding must come from a position of strength and capability
.
Resistance Readiness and the Struggle Ahead
Sheikh Qassem reaffirmed the steadfastness of the resistance in confronting the Zionist occupier and its readiness to make the greatest sacrifices to safeguard Lebanon’s dignity and people.
He said the public of the resistance remains firmly attached to its weapons, and that any confrontation with the Israeli project is an existential confrontation for the nation.
He reminded that the genocidal war in Gaza is taking place with full American sponsorship, and that the current targeting encompasses everyone. He pointed out that the recent aggression in southern Lebanon struck five towns and villages, in addition to the ongoing killings and destruction. He said the government is responsible for confronting these aggressions and has the means to do so.
He welcomed the recent stance of the three Lebanese presidents regarding the aggression in the south but insisted it must be followed up daily. The priority, he said, is stopping the aggression, confronting Israel, expelling the occupier, and beginning reconstruction.
Resistance Readiness and Final Warnings
Sheikh Qassem confirmed that the resistance is ready to carry out its duty alongside the Lebanese army if there is any decision to confront the enemy.
He warned that the greatest danger is not blocking aid or threatening war, but stripping away strength and capacity, and sacrificing the people on the altar of surrender.
He concluded by declaring that the Americans are liars and will give nothing; that America and “Israel” aggress against the whole world; and that injustice will eventually collapse.
“The Lebanese will not be slaves,” he said. “God created them free.” (PW)
