Sheikh Naim: Resistance Blocks Israel’s Ambitions, Lebanon Will Not Surrender
Hezbollah Secretary-General Says Resistance Prevented Occupation in “Battle People of Might,” Warns Against U.S.-Israeli Plans to Strip Lebanon of Its Strength
Lebanon, PUREWILAYAH.COM - Hezbollah Secretary-General Sheikh Naim Qassem affirmed on Wednesday that the Resistance in Lebanon has successfully thwarted “Israel’s” objectives and prevented it from occupying any territory during the Battle People of Might.
“Israel is deterred today and cannot find a foothold on our land,” he declared, marking the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
Sheikh Qassem recalled that since the founding of modern Lebanon, “Israel” has harbored ambitions to seize its towns and land.
“The highest form of patriotism is the defense of Lebanon,” he said, noting the Resistance’s heavy sacrifices, including leaders such as Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and Sayyed Hashim Safieddine.
Shield Against Occupation and Collapse
The Secretary-General stressed that the Resistance has been a decisive barrier against “Israel’s” ambitions, contributing to Lebanon’s stability, facilitating the election of President Aoun, and confronting the enemy on multiple fronts.
He blamed Lebanon’s collapse on rampant corruption and the failure to implement the Taif Agreement, adding that Israeli aggression has pushed the country deeper into crisis.
The November ceasefire agreement, he said, was intended to end the aggression and compel the state to remove the occupier — objectives which remain unfulfilled.
Government Sessions “Ultra Vires”
Commenting on government meetings held on August 5 and 7 to enforce the “exclusivity of arms” under the state, Sheikh Qassem said such sessions were ultra vires and any dialogue must occur within a national defense strategy framework.
He outlined three pillars for Lebanon’s development:
Achieving sovereignty by expelling “Israel” and rejecting Arab-American tutelage.
Rebuilding the state and initiating reconstruction.
Fighting corruption at every level.
He criticized internal actors pushing to disarm the Resistance while “Israeli” aggression continues, urging them to act as genuine domestic partners rather than serve the enemy’s agenda.
U.S. and Israel Share a Single Goal
Sheikh Qassem warned that the U.S. is “more than willing to hand over Lebanon in its entirety to Israel,” noting that both share the objective of stripping Lebanon of its strength.
“They want Lebanon defenseless so it becomes easy prey for Israel’s expansionist project,” he said, stressing that the West cares only about Israel, not Lebanon.
“We will not yield to pressure, no matter how intense, and we will never surrender,” he vowed.
Aggression on Qatar and the “Greater Israel” Project
On the aggression against Qatar, Sheikh Qassem said it was “quintessentially American-Israeli” and part of the “Greater Israel” project. He affirmed Hezbollah’s solidarity with Qatar and questioned why Arab states fail to support the Resistance, the only force delaying this project’s decisive phase.
“Those who do not wish to support the Resistance should at least refrain from attacking it,” he said, adding that unity founded on truth will lead to real national unity across the region.
Solidarity with Yemen and Palestine
Sheikh Qassem saluted “the great and courageous Yemen” for enduring immense burdens in solidarity with the Palestinian cause, calling support for Palestine the highest form of Islamic unity.
Reaffirming that Palestine remains the central cause of the Islamic nation, he urged support for the people of Gaza and the West Bank against “criminal American-Israeli aggression.”
Despite the hardships, he said, “the Palestinian people remain steadfast and the Resistance endures.”
He concluded by hailing the “Ramot” operation near Al-Quds as a testament to Palestinian courage and will, proof that they control their own destiny and resistance despite all conspiracies against them. (PW)
