Sheikh Ikrima Warns of Israeli Attempts to Impose a New Reality in Masjid Al-Aqsa
Israel is attempting to impose a new reality within the sacred compound through intensified incursions by extremist settlers and increased restrictions on mosque guards and Jerusalemite residents.
Palestine, PUREWILAYAH.COM — The preacher of Al-Aqsa Mosque, Sheikh Ikrima Sabri, has warned against Israeli attempts to impose a new reality within the sacred compound through intensified incursions by extremist settler groups, accompanied by restrictions on mosque guards and Jerusalemite residents.
In a press statement, Sheikh Sabri described these aggressions as a “flagrant transgression and blatant injustice,” stressing that such acts are “categorically rejected in form and substance” and “grant the occupation no right whatsoever in the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque.”
“Al-Aqsa Belongs Solely to Muslims”
The preacher reaffirmed that Al-Aqsa Mosque is the exclusive right of Muslims alone, by decree of the Almighty, adding:
“There will be no concession, no negotiation, and no room for compromise over this right.”
Sheikh Sabri pointed out that extremist groups are promoting false Talmudic narratives through the performance of ritual offerings inside the compound, in an attempt to impose a new religious and political reality at the expense of the mosque’s Islamic identity.
An Attack on the Faith of the Entire Nation
He further emphasized that “any harm to Al-Aqsa is an assault on the creed of the entire Muslim nation,” noting that the people of Jerusalem and the steadfast worshippers (murabitun) will continue to defend the holy site by all possible means.
Sheikh Sabri called upon the Arab and Islamic nations to assume their responsibilities in protecting the mosque from ongoing plans of Judaization and temporal and spatial division.
Renewed Ban on Sheikh Sabri
Earlier on Monday, Israeli occupation authorities renewed their decision to ban Sheikh Ikrima Sabri from entering Al-Aqsa Mosque for six months, marking the third such prohibition imposed on him in recent years.
In a statement, the Islamic Higher Commission said that the decision represents “a continuation of a series of violations” against Sheikh Sabri, describing the measure as “a serious and unacceptable transgression.” The commission affirmed that Sheikh Sabri remains “a leading Islamic authority in Palestine.”
Settler Stormings Continue
Eyewitnesses reported that hundreds of settlers, including far-right minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, stormed the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque on Wednesday under heavy protection from Israeli forces.
The settlers entered from the Maghariba Gate, carried out provocative tours, and performed Talmudic rituals and dances in conjunction with the second day of the so-called “Feast of Tabernacles.”
Over the past few days, Al-Aqsa Mosque has witnessed a significant escalation in settler incursions and provocations, prompted by calls from Temple Mount organizations under the pretext of celebrating the Jewish “Feast of Tabernacles.”
