Senior Iranian Cleric: Avenging the Martyred Leader Means Defeating the Ideology of Tyranny
Ayatollah Seyyed Hassan Ameli says the true revenge for the martyred Leader is the downfall of an ideology that denies humanity its dignity, freedom, and right to exist
Iran, PUREWILAYAH.COM – Ayatollah Seyyed Hassan Ameli, Friday Prayer Leader of Ardabil Province and the Leader’s representative in northwestern Iran’s Ardabil Province, said the true path to avenging the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei, lies in defeating the ideology that denies nations their right to life, dignity, independence, and self-determination.
In an interview with Iran’s IRNA news agency, Ayatollah Ameli described Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Hosseini Khamenei as “a martyr of belief, thought, and conviction,” saying his martyrdom came because he stood against what he called a contemporary tyrannical power embodying disbelief, oppression, aggression, usurpation, despotism, bloodshed, and a deceptive vision of humanity.
A Martyr of an Idea, Not Merely a Person
Ayatollah Ameli said the Martyred Leader represented a sacred school of thought rather than an individual whose death could be avenged simply by killing another person.
He compared the issue to the martyrdom of Imam Husayn (peace be upon him), saying the objective of Imam Husayn was never merely the removal of Yazid as an individual, but the destruction of the ideology that Yazid represented.
According to Ayatollah Ameli, the martyred Leader’s revenge will only be fulfilled when the ideology that justifies oppression, sacrifices humanity for power, and builds its authority upon “the crushed bones of humanity and the shattered dignity of human beings” is eliminated.
He added that such an ideology neither understands the tears of orphans nor the grief of bereaved mothers, yet considers the assassination of righteous figures permissible or even obligatory.
The Ideology That Must Be Defeated
Ayatollah Ameli said anyone seeking to avenge the blood of the martyred Leader must understand that the struggle is against a worldview claiming that no one except itself has the right to live, choose, decide, defend themselves, or possess dignity and sovereignty.
He described this ideology as one that demands nations abandon freedom, independence, national sovereignty, democracy, and the right to determine their own future.
The senior cleric also condemned what he called a system governed by double standards, special privileges, and the unequal valuation of human beings.
He likened this mentality to the arrogance of Pharaoh, saying it behaves as though declaring, “I am your supreme lord,” while obedient rulers submit without question.
A Long Struggle Against Oppression
Ayatollah Ameli said the mission of revenge is not a momentary act but a long-term struggle against what he described as a Sufyani, satanic, and Dajjali ideology.
He expressed confidence that this worldview is already losing legitimacy among nations because of what he described as its crimes, insults against peoples, violations of fundamental rights, disregard for international institutions, and its conduct during the wars against Gaza and Iran.
“The signs of victory have already become visible,” he said, describing the growing rejection of this ideology as only the beginning of the process of revenge.
Living by the Martyred Leader’s Principles
Concluding his remarks, Ayatollah Ameli called on the public to honor the martyred Leader by living according to his principles and defending his intellectual legacy with steadfastness.
He cited the doctrine of a “Strong Iran” as one of the Leader’s major intellectual initiatives and said Iran has become stronger through the blood of the Leader, military commanders, children, and members of the nation who attained martyrdom.
“We will make Iran even stronger with all our strength,” he said. (PW)
