SCO Expresses Support for Iran, Rejects Foreign Aggression
SCO member states voice deep concern over attacks on Iran, reject use of force, back Iran’s sovereignty, and urge UN action to protect regional peace.
Iran, PUREWILAYAH.COM - The member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization have expressed concern over the U.S.-Zionist aggressions against Iran.
According to the statement, the SCO member states voiced their deep concern over the course of developments in the region and the military attacks carried out against the territory of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The member states rejected the use of force and emphasized the necessity of resolving existing disputes exclusively through peaceful means, based on dialogue, mutual respect, and consideration of the legitimate interests of all parties, within the framework of international law and the principles enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations.
The SCO member states opposed any form of foreign interference in Iran.
They stressed the need to safeguard the sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity of the Islamic Republic of Iran, calling on all parties to exercise restraint and to refrain from any action that could lead to further escalation of tensions.
The member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization urgently called on the United Nations and the UN Security Council to take immediate and effective measures to prevent the weakening of international peace and security.
They also expressed their sincere condolences to the families of those killed in the attack and declared their solidarity with and support for the government and people of the Islamic Republic of Iran. (PW)
