Scholar Maftah: Yemen Holds Its Ground — ‘Bank for Bank, Airport for Airport, Port for Port
Acting Prime Minister Muhammad Maftah: “Our People Will Confront and Foil Every Plot"
Yemen, PUREWILAYAH.COM - Yemen’s Acting Prime Minister, Scholar Muhammad Maftah, inaugurated on Monday the Annual Martyrs’ Anniversary events in Sana’a, attended by members of the Supreme Political Council, ministers, and prominent national and community figures.
In his address, Maftah hailed Yemen’s martyrs as symbols of sacrifice, dignity, and steadfastness, emphasizing that they offered their most precious possessions for the honor, independence, and sovereignty of their homeland.
“Yemen Will Not Bow to Pressure”
The Acting Prime Minister asserted that Yemen will never yield to external pressure or measures targeting its economy and livelihood.
He reaffirmed that the principle of reciprocity — “bank for bank, airport for airport, and port for port” — remains a binding national stance, not subject to compromise.
“This game will not continue,” Maftah declared.
“Our people, who have offered convoys of martyrs, will confront and foil your plots, Allah willing.”
Supreme Political Council: A Decade of Resistance
Member of the Supreme Political Council, Abdulaziz bin Habtour, echoed Maftah’s words, recalling that for more than ten years of aggression, the Yemeni people have faced the tyrants of the age and thwarted every attempt to subjugate them.
He stressed that Yemen’s resistance remains ongoing until complete victory is achieved, noting that the nation has offered martyrs from all walks of life — including senior state leaders — in defense of its sovereignty.
Honoring the Martyrs and Their Families
Bin Habtour called for continued support and care for the families of the martyrs, recognizing their immense sacrifice as the backbone of Yemen’s resilience and unity.
He underscored that the martyrs’ families represent the living embodiment of Yemen’s honor and must remain a national priority.
The reaffirmation of Yemen’s position comes amid escalating economic pressures and international political maneuvers.
The enduring principle of “bank for bank, airport for airport, port for port” serves as a cornerstone of Yemen’s strategic deterrence — asserting that national rights cannot be traded under coercion and that reciprocity will define any engagement with external parties. (PW)
