Sayyed Houthi: Disarming the Resistance means Turning the People Into Sheep for the Enemy's Slaughter
In a landmark speech on April 17, 2025, Yemen’s leader delivers a fiery message: disarming the resistance is betrayal, US-Israeli attacks are war crimes, and Yemeni operations will only grow stronger
Yemen, PUREWILAYAH.COM - In his Thursday address on April 17, 2025, Sayyed Abdulmalik Badruddin Al-Houthi delivered a far-reaching speech touching on multiple regional and international issues. His remarks served as a strategic directive to the Islamic Ummah, especially in its confrontation with American and Israeli aggression, offering a clear picture of the current stage and its accompanying events.
The Gaza Tragedy and Zionist-American Collaboration
Sayyed Abdulmalik opened his speech by describing the current situation in Gaza and occupied Palestine, emphasizing that the enemy is aggressively pursuing a criminal agenda of forced displacement, fully supported and enabled by the American administration. He pointed to the Zionist plan to desecrate Al-Aqsa Mosque through repeated incursions coinciding with the so-called "Jewish Passover."
He stressed that the Zionist entity is actively conditioning the public and laying the groundwork for implementing a clear, declared plan: full control over Al-Aqsa Mosque and its conversion into their claimed “Temple.”
Sayyed Abdulmalik reiterated that the ongoing genocide and atrocities in Gaza are being carried out under the explicit green light from the United States, which continues to supply Israel with a relentless flow of weapons. “The U.S. is now intensifying its delivery of massive arms shipments to enable the continued extermination of the Palestinian people,” he said.
Salute to the Palestinian Resistance
Sayyed Abdulmalik praised the unwavering courage of the Palestinian resistance despite the dire conditions in Gaza, especially the fighters from Al-Qassam Brigades, Saraya Al-Quds, and other factions. He highlighted their heroic confrontations with Israeli forces, noting how they are effectively luring the enemy into deadly traps.
The Lebanese Front: Israel Is an Existential Threat to Lebanon
Addressing the situation in Lebanon, Sayyed Abdulmalik noted that Israel harbors ambitions of full domination over the country. The Zionist regime is seeking to plunder the Litani River and continues to violate Lebanese airspace with repeated aggression.
He highlighted that Israel is not only targeting infrastructure and homes but also actively working to prevent displaced Lebanese citizens from safely returning to their homes. Even temporary housing built for the displaced is under attack.
Sayyed Abdulmalik affirmed that Israel poses a real and existential threat to Lebanon and that Hezbollah is playing an essential and legitimate role in defending the country.
Syria: Nine Zionist Bases and a New Reality
Turning to Syria, he emphasized that the Zionist regime continues its violation of Syrian sovereignty. Nine Israeli bases have been established in southern Syria, with red lines set for various terrorist groups and their backers.
What the Zionist entity is doing in Palestine, Lebanon, and Syria, Sayyed Abdulmalik said, proves the urgent need for regional nations to build up their deterrent capabilities and self-defense mechanisms.
On Disarming the Palestinian Resistance: A Red Line
Sayyed Abdulmalik also addressed a topic that has recently gained media attention—the proposal to disarm the Palestinian resistance. He firmly warned against such calls, declaring that the Palestinian people have the ultimate right to bear arms to defend their land, honor, and sanctities.
He strongly condemned the endorsement of such ideas by certain Arab regimes and political forces, calling them illogical and absurd, especially in light of the recent brutal aggression against Gaza.
“Who will protect our nation if it does not have weapons and all means of power? Genocides have occurred against Muslims throughout history as a result of abandoning jihad in the way of God,” he said, adding, “No one intervenes when a Muslim people is violated and killed, neither the United Nations nor the Security Council. As for the Europeans, they rejoice over that.
Sayyed Abdulmalik drew a stark comparison, noting that while the U.S. and the West continue to arm Israel with lethal bombs used to kill children and women and burn refugee camps in Gaza, they simultaneously question the right of Palestinians to bear arms.
“Who truly deserves to be armed—the people under occupation or the oppressive, aggressive entity?” he asked.
“Disarming the resistance means that the Palestinian people and the Arab peoples will turn into mere sheep to be slaughtered by the enemy on its holidays,” he added.
Yemen's Frontline Operations in Support of Gaza
In a notable section of his speech, Sayyed Abdulmalik presented statistics on Yemen's military operations supporting Gaza, both in the past week and over the past month, particularly since the latest wave of American aggression on Yemen.
He revealed that Yemeni Armed Forces had carried out four missile attacks using Quds missiles against American reconnaissance, refueling, and warplanes over the Red Sea. Over eleven interception and engagement operations targeted U.S. aircraft, including stealth planes, with several missions successfully thwarted.
“We carried out 33 operations targeting the Truman aircraft carrier and its accompanying naval fleet, using 122 ballistic and cruise missiles and drones,” he declared. These operations, he noted, forced the U.S. to resort to stealth aircraft and a base located nearly 4,000 kilometers away in the Indian Ocean, revealing the ineffectiveness of their prior strategies.
He added that the Truman carrier's role had become purely defensive, barely able to protect itself from Yemeni strikes, and that its deployment failed to achieve American objectives. This, he said, prompted Washington to bring in another aircraft carrier as a sign of failure and desperation.
“Our operations have turned the USS Truman into a defensive unit barely able to protect itself — it can no longer secure Israeli maritime routes.”
He revealed that due to Yemen’s pressure, the US has had to rely on distant bases in the Indian Ocean, thousands of kilometers away, and bring in a second aircraft carrier — a sign of strategic failure.
Strikes on Occupied Territories and Military Capability Growth
“We conducted 26 operations targeting the occupied Palestinian territories with 30 ballistic, hypersonic missiles and drones,” Sayyed Abdulmalik said, noting that the scale and intensity of these operations clearly demonstrate that Yemen's military capabilities remain intact and robust, despite American aggression.
He confirmed that Yemen's military strength is growing, with significant advancements in technical innovation and operational tactics. He underlined that the effectiveness and diversity of recent operations are evident, even acknowledged by American and Israeli sources.
To Washington, he sent a clear message: “Your aggression only makes us stronger. It increases our military capabilities and enhances their effectiveness.”
U.S. Escalation and Yemeni Retaliation
Sayyed Abdulmalik disclosed that the United States conducted over 220 airstrikes this week using stealth jets and F-18s, among other aircraft. Over the past month, more than 900 airstrikes and naval bombardments were launched against Yemen.
In response, the Yemeni Armed Forces executed 78 operations in one month, deploying 171 ballistic, cruise, and hypersonic missiles as well as drones. The downing of the 19th MQ-9 drone, a critical U.S. asset, was highlighted as a key achievement, demonstrating the strength and effectiveness of Yemen’s defensive capabilities.
A Million-Man March in Support of Gaza
One of the final highlights of his speech was praise for the Yemeni people’s massive demonstrations. He described the million-man marches as unmatched, not just in the Arab world but globally, showcasing Yemen’s unique solidarity with Gaza.
Sayyed Abdulmalik concluded by renewing his call for another massive turnout on Friday, April 18, in Sana’a and across Yemeni provinces, to continue supporting Gaza and the Palestinian cause with unwavering resolve. (PW)
