Sayyed Houthi: Sayyed Khamenei’s Martyrdom Will Strengthen the Resistance, Break US-Israeli Project
Yemeni leader says the assassination of Imam Khamenei targets Iran’s Islamic system but will only strengthen resistance against US-Israeli domination.
Yemen, PUREWILAYAH.COM - The Leader of the Revolution in Yemen, Sayyed Abdul Malik al-Houthi, has extended condolences to the family of Sayyed Ali Husseini Khamenei, the Muslim people of Iran, Iran’s official institutions—including the Revolutionary Guards—and the entire Islamic Ummah, following the martyrdom of the Iranian leader.
In a speech delivered on March 1, 2026, Sayyed Abdul Malik al-Houthi described the assassination as a grave loss for the Islamic world, while stressing that it would fail to achieve the objectives of the United States and Israel.
A Deliberate Aggression Against Iran’s Role
Al-Houthi said the aggression against Iran was not an isolated act, but part of a broader US-Israeli strategy aimed at reshaping the region.
“The aggression against Iran is intended to enable the Israeli enemy to dominate the region by removing the greatest obstacle to that project,” he said.
He emphasized that Iran was targeted because of its Islamic system and its revolutionary, jihad-oriented stance that rejects Zionist hegemony, supports the Palestinian cause, and stands with oppressed peoples across the region.
“This heinous crime by the Americans and the Israelis aims to erase the great role of Sayyed Khamenei in confronting their tyranny and foiling their conspiracies,” al-Houthi stated.
Why Imam Khamenei Was Targeted
According to the Yemeni leader, the assassination specifically aimed to eliminate Imam Khamenei’s leadership of the Islamic system and his global role in defending the oppressed.
“Targeting Imam Khamenei was meant to remove a leadership firmly committed to just causes and the legitimate rights of the Islamic Ummah, especially Palestine,” he said.
He added that the attack also sought to break the will of the Iranian people, undermine their morale, and pressure submissive regimes in the region into surrender under Zionist dominance—an effort he described as doomed to fail.
Iran’s Honor and the Continuation of the Path
Al-Houthi underscored that honor belongs to the Iranian nation, its brave Revolutionary Guards, and its official institutions, describing the martyrdom as a source of renewed strength rather than weakness.
“This is a tribute to the pure blood of Sayyed Khamenei and a commitment to the path of freedom, dignity, and courage,” he said, adding that the martyrdom provides powerful motivation to continue with “Husaini courage and Khomeini determination.”
He noted that the Islamic Revolution has, since its inception, followed a path of sacrifice and liberation, standing firm against all pressures and hardships.
Failure of the Enemy and the Choice of the Ummah
Al-Houthi said the true failure lies with the aggressors, as the crime has instead reinforced unity and resolve inside Iran.
“The enemy’s failure lies in the collapse of the objectives behind this crime, due to the resilience of the Iranian people and their steadfast adherence to the path of jihad and liberation,” he stated.
He framed the situation as a defining choice for the Islamic Ummah: confrontation or submission.
“Submission and surrender to American-Israeli tyranny mean the loss of freedom, dignity, honor, religion, and both worldly life and the hereafter,” al-Houthi warned.
Divine Promise and Resistance Going Forward
Concluding his remarks, the Yemeni leader stressed reliance on divine promise and continued resistance.
“The true choice is to rely on Allah, trust in His true promise, and make sacrifices in the service of sacred causes,” he said, asserting that Zionist-American criminality would ultimately consign the occupying entity to oblivion.
Al-Houthi affirmed that Iran’s position remains cohesive and firm, its response strong and ongoing, and that Iran, the axis of jihad and resistance, and free people around the world will continue to stand on the path of liberation. (PW)
